Well i used to collect Indian arrowheads for about 25 years or so.i always wished they had songs about arrowheads but i never heard of any.Thought i'd write one for me and my head huntin' folks.They seemed to like it over there at my arrowhead site on the net.Maybe i should make a full cd on the subject.Here is the first one maybe.

Hi Mike:

Hunting arrowheads is a great pastime when you are in the right vicinity. Our Scout Camp near Mena, Arkansas was obviously the mother lode of all the right materials the Native Americans used to create great points for arrows and spears.

I used to have quite a collection of arrow heads myself. I grew up on a farm and every spring the freshly tilled soil would bring to the surface a few more trophies. Really dug this one!

Excellent write Michael. You are a machine ... don't know how you churn them out so quick. Really enjoyed it and it seems I am the exception in this thread ... this past time is news to me. Enjoyed listening and learning. Nice work.

Great song Mike!! I still have the first one I found 60 years ago and Janice and I regularly hunt them on sand bars while flat water kayaking our local river. Our best ever is a quartz crystal Clovis point that Janice found years ago.

Beyond all the memories it brings up....it is a strong song and really well sung and put together. Gonna have to pass the link along to some relic hunting friends.

Wait a dang minute,a quartz crystal Clovis?That's rare as chicken lips!I'd love to see a pic of it.I no longer have my first arrowhead,not really sure what type it was other than a stemmed woodland point.I sold my collection about 5 years ago except for what my kids found and what i have from California when we lived there for about a year.I bet y'all find some nice stuff over there in Georgia.I like creek walking but it's not too good here for walking.A crystal quartz Clovis,i can't imagine finding one of those.Thanks for the listen and kind words.Mike

Yep...a once in a life time find for sure. She spotted it on a bank and almost didn't pick it up thinking it was glass. It's very hard to photograph due to the glare but it is fluted (not basally thinned) on both sides but they don't show well in the photo. About 2.5" long. Quartz crystal is not unknown but rare here...most of our stuff is coastal plains chert. We've found a few paleos but this is the best.

Thanks for your interest. I've lived and breathed this stuff since I was a kid and always thought about writing a song about it. But you nailed it!! And like you wrote we always think about who last held it.

Out of sight!!!
