Thanks so much Emmy for the good question. Anyone in the forum is free to choose a title out of the list that I submitted..but only the twelve chosen will be the songwriters..to make it a lot easier. Any other person who wishes to be considered perhaps may join on the other songs.
If the five remaining make their choice it may guide me in making a decision..but if they don't, then I will have to incorporate anyone else who picks a title for the vote. If the five again for any reason lose an interest in the project, I will work with those remaining. Remember I said from the onset that I am ready to work even with one or two persons as long as we do good to the world. Thanks. What do you think..do you have someone interested in co-writing?

Frankie and all, I would love to help in any way with writing on these great titles. Until then, here is a song that I wrote about a dream that I had back in 1997. I have been looking for a place to use it. See what you think.
Look for the Blue © 1997 Kenneth R. Andresen
V1 It’s was just about twilight, and what did I see. A dolphin was jumping, and talking to me.
She told me I’m welcome, to join her below. Her friends there were eager, To learn what I know.
Chorus1 I’m asked. Why oh why do you do what you do. She cried. Open your eyes and look for the blue. We’ve lived all our lives out in this sea. Spend all our time here in tranquillity. Chorus end
V2 So I jumped in the water, and to my surprise. I could breath very easy, so I opened my eyes.
I saw them all playing, in the light of the moon. They all swam beside me, and asked very soon.
Chorus2 Tell us. Why oh why do you do what you do. They cried. Open your eyes and look for the blue. We’ve lived all our lives out in this sea. Spend all our time here in tranquillity.
They took me to places, I could not believe. The beauty so precious, I never conceived.
Then they showed me pollution, beyond my belief. A graveyard of friends there, an ocean of grief.
Chorus3 And I heard. Why oh why do they do what they do. They cried. Open your eyes and look for the blue. We’ve lived all our lives out in this sea. Spend all our time here in tranquillity.
We went back to the playground, I stayed for a week. They taught me their secrets, the dolphin mystique.
I told them of my world, the beauty I’ve seen. The wonderful people, who keep our world clean.
Chorus4 And I said. I don’t know why we do what we do. As I. Opened my eyes into the blue. I spent part of my life out in this sea. And spent all that time there in tranquillity.
Chorus5 As I. Opened my eyes and looked into the blue. I said. I wish that we could be more like you. Making love and eating, swimming and fun. What else in this world is there, Come on everyone.
I said. I wish that we could be more like you. Making love and eating, swimming and fun. What else in this world is there, Come on everyone.

Thanks Kendo for your interest in such a noble project. We could think of accomodating you in the project..but first let me see what the rest think...
Thanks for the lyrics also..however, please help us choose one title from the list of selected ones first. Then we can know the direction to take. Thanks. For this lyric..we shall critique and perhaps tell you what we think of it. If good to the rest we may use it on another project..remember we have to be strict about what we have all along been talking about - you may read the previous correspondence mails.

Hi Frankie, No, I didn't have a co writer in mind, was just trying to get the hang of how this is going to work.
Those who have choosin a title will work on that song? plus, if someone sends in a line or two to another song, and someone thinks they could improve it someway, they would work on that song also? in other words we work on the lyrics of all song titles choosin? and at the end of this thing everyone votes for the best song writin.
Am I on track so far?
Thanks, Emmy

Emmy- The 12 members posted titles. Frankie at one point in time, made a decision to use those 12 people to collaborate, and try to write the song. Also, Frankie did post a reply making the voting open to "anyone" who wished to vote on a title; regardless if they posted a title, or intended on working on the project.
After a title is decided, then I believe Frankie will post instructions for the next step, which will be writing the lyric.

Hi Emmy
You are very much on track. However I would rather we work on a song at a time..unless you very much think that you've got good lyrics but they cannot be used in the current project..then you may save them for the other titles.
My main aim was actually to bring people together, have one or two songs with powerful messages, then to ignite others to come up with other positive songs for the society. And I am glad Graham told me he had already had a song produced..that is positive..but we should also bring our heads together on this one. I am sure the end result will be worthwhile. Thanks for staying with us.
Remember I had said that we shall be only twelve people writing the song..unless for one reason or the other someone pulls out and we need someone to replace him/her.

It is alright Graham. If you must pull out then the choice is yours. Wish you all the best in whatever you do.
Thank you.

HI Frankie & Evabody!
I've been Real Busy with a Christmas CD recordin' in Branson..& Follow-Up Stuff.
JUST got back here for a Looksee...& I see we're not exactly "In Accord" on this "World Peace" Lyric... (Remind anyone of the UN General Assembly?) ;-)>
I DO recommend Evabody go to your Neighborhood Theatres (in the US) & see "Hotel Rwanda". Just MIGHT Inspire Ya to take a little more Action on this Lyric & get something done..Sooner. (Only took 10 YEARS since This Massacre to get a Movie made about it...)
I, personally, like "Peace is just a Word Away"..since a "World" away is kind of a Negative Statement..(even if it's True.) I also personally think that "Word" seems too "Light" a word. Words aren't ACTIONS..alas. Maybe a "Step" away, perhaps...or a "Hug" away..or SOMETHING ACTIVE Away. "Smile".."(Hand)Shake" away.. Maybe "A DAY" away...give it a Timeframe.
"Word"..yeah, can be done. Maybe it can be done Better, tho?
Anyways, Frankie, Suggestion #2: New Heading on the Board: "VOTE for your Favorite Title for WORLD PEACE SONG, DEADLINE is {& Pick a Date. NO Extentions.}" & perhaps leave the Voting "Open"...The more Voters, the Merrier, IMO.
THEN, Title in Place...have a Deadline for Verse Suggestions...& another VOTE. Perhaps Same Time, a Deadline for CHORUS Suggestions...& a VOTE.
You thus eliminate the Pages of Bickering over Minute Elements of this Project..AND get a Workable SONG within a Measurable Timeframe.
All of this is Just a Suggestion. Good Luck with The Project, & yes, I'll be interested in working on it. Sorry for my Absence...but Christmas/New Years is Real Busy here.
Big Hugs, TampaStan

Hi Stan- I think you have missed the underlying idea here; A world, where one lives, can be either across the globe, or right next door. Hence, peace is just a world away. Ones physical world, where one lives or ones emotional world.[/B]
I also personally think that "Word" seems too "Light" a word. Words aren't ACTIONS..alas. Maybe a "Step" away, perhaps...or a "Hug" away..or SOMETHING ACTIVE Away. "Smile".."(Hand)Shake" away.. Maybe "A DAY" away...give it a Timeframe.

I'm glad you touched on this important point: I had discussed the two titles with a couple of scholarly friends recently, and got two different opinions. One friend told me that both titles use the word "just" in a diminutive context, and is grammatically incorrect. This applies to both titles. He suggested changing the words world, and word also, as you suggested, choosing another better word that makes more sense. Because in that context, the word just implies a very small amount of. i.e. Just an inch away. Distance. He mentioned as an example, try using some word like "moment" as it applies to time- "Peace Is Just A Moment Away." A second friend told me in a lyrical sense, both titles are fine, and sound intriguing. And in lyric writing, one has room to let the mind think a bit. My idea is, to be sure what ever title is used, it is a great title- is simple, easy to understand, yet powerful.

Hello Frankie and all, Thank you for the invite to this project.
I am still a bit confused as to whether we are now ALL picking ONE title from the three listed earlier:
1. Peace is just a Word Away (Chosen By Graham, Mart Helly, Doug)- originally was Cal's idea 2. Give the world a new face (Chosen by Frank, Roxhythe, Emmy) 3. Peace is just a World Away (Chosen by Cal)
and working on just the ONE title (and idea)?
Or are we EACH still picking ONE of the three titles to work on?
So, at this point, I will put in my vote for number 2, “Give the World a New Face”. Mostly because it already caught my eye and I’ve written on it. So far, I have about 4 verses, a chorus and a bridge, with enough outlines for a couple more verses. The lyric to this point is a basic folk style, in a simple rhyming structure, which could lend itself to lilty or waltzy tune as well as plain folk. I’m looking into translating it to a Euro-pop and/or World-beat style as well.
Either way, when we have lyric ready to post, should we just go ahead and post it in this thread? Maybe Frankie should start a new thread like “SONG OF THE WORLD PROJECT – LYRIC”? If we have a set of guidelines (instructions), they could be posted at the beginning of that thread. To that thought, it seems that there will be enough conversation for each song that maybe we should have a separate thread for each song, and have the instructions as the first post in each thread. I think that it would be less confusing and it would fit more with the structure of the BB. Looking forward to working with the “Across the Ocean’s 12”.

disregard, I did not look at the date of the last reply. Then I saw the new thread, and that the song had started.
My apologies, and best of luck with the project.
