I don't think there has ever been a more dishonest and dangerous (sociopathic) candidate for president than Donald Trump. The union can easily survive 4 years of Hillary (along with a republican congress), but I am not so sure that it can survive a trumpian quadrennial. I mean this guy says there's no drought in California and that global warming is a Chinese concocted conspiracy. Plus he has bamboozled and hoodwinked millions into thinking that he is for the little guy, that he isn't misogynistic and that he actually has a secret plan to fix everything in 30 days. His success is solely based on us versus them (whoever the convenient "them" is on any given day). Hillary might sort of be Machiavellian in nature, but hey them's the choices we have.

But no one's mind is ever changed here -- vote for whoever you want, as long as it isn't Trump.

I think Trump is conservatism's last stand. If he loses, I believe we will become a one-party country, like California & New York are one-party states. Conservatives will pack it in. They elected a majority in both the House & Senate. Then, whenever Obama spoke, those elected dogs rolled over and peed on themselves. Thus, proving themselves only trying to protect their power at the expense of the country.

Republican candidate: "Vote for me. I'm to the right of my Democrat opponent."

Reality: "Yeah, but you're holding hands."


Hillary is a corruptician. The country could survive if all she wanted to do was go down in history and pad her bank account. Unfortunately, she wants to continue taking the country left.

My biggest concern is her stance on immigration. "Let 'em in" could be her slogan. Illegals either need jobs or taxpayer support. Either way, they are a drain on our own citizens' resources. (Another reason I believe we'll be a one-party country if she wins.)

However, she also wants to increase the influx of ardent Muslims. At some point diversity becomes balkanizing. It is commonality that we should strive for, in this case, Western civilisation values. Fundamental Islamists are not the integrating type.

Dave: Good post, but I don't believe that Trump is a conservative or a Republican. Conservatism and the belief that "small government is the best government" is not going to die. It will recover from the hijacking that Trump has done to feed his own ego.

What exactly makes Trump a conservative? He doesn't talk about fiscal conservative policies.

Republicans don't even stand for western civilization values. They tried banning contraceptives from being accepted by insurance companies. They attack planned parenthood. They don't support gay marriage. In fact they want to send gay people to conversion therapy.
The only thing that separates republicans from Islamic radicals is Republicans try to ban western values via legislation.

Kevin, Trump's main message is "America first." Obama's was "America needs to be taken down a peg or two." Hillary's is "Me, Myself, whoever donates the requisite amount, then America."

That's why conservatives support him, regardless who he donated to or what he said in the past.

That's what he might be saying, but what he means is:

"Trump First and then, maybe, America can come along for the ride. If it works out, great. If not, well at least I made money off the deal."

She'll never make it to November. She can't even stay on her feet.

Tom, I remember Merv Griffin relating how bombastic Trump was during business negotiations. Trump is a bit of a loose cannon. I'm no fan of Bloomberg, btw. Hillary is no prize, either. Indeed.
