Thanks to all of you who have made their contributions. We have twenty one titles.
We must all remember that nothing happens first before a dream..we have already started our march towards a better world..by accepting to come together in the first place..people from different nationalities and races..so we are moving forward.
What do we sincerely think about our titles? Are they worth changing the world when the lyrics will start streaming in? Let us be sincere..Why not have another week of working on this, meanwhile, leaving it open for any other titles to come in? We have not rejected any of the titles. All we have said is that let us review, be open to newer ideas..remember we want a success for the world. We want something that will be pitched and reach all corners of the globe, reach the people's hearts allover. Have a look at the titles below
1. Peace Is Just A World Away by Cal
2. You're Not Much Different From Me" BY Tampstan
3. Peace Is Just A Word Away (Posted on 10-23-2004) by Michael Meal as a modification of Cal's title (Posted on 10-22-2004)
4. (The World is)'Everyones Home' by Doug
5. Make The World A Better Place by Frankie
6. Love conquers all. By ECA333 (Adams)
7. Conquer them with love'? by Davyboy49
8. Living Laughing Loving, Thats What This World Needs. (By Tominbonham)
9. You can Make this World Different
(by Frankie)
10. For The World (or For The World's Sake)
(by Graham)
11. ONE WORLD UNDIVIDED. (By Emmy)
12. Peace is a Pebble in the Stream
(by C.C Cherrier)
13. "The Wonder Of The World"
( by John Voorpostel ) 14. Lets give the world a new face (by Emmy) 15. Have you ever seen a dove (By D*Rock) 16. One World, One Human Race (By Frankie) 17. One World, One Family (By Frankie) 18. Brotherly Love, Sisterly Love (Is all We Need) (By Frankie) 19. HOW CAN WE SAVE THE WORLD FROM DYING (By Cal) 20. OUR PLANET STILL CRIES (By Cal) 21. Give the World a new face (By Frank as a modification of Emmy's Title)
We ain't gonna fail. It is usually said that great songs are "Rewritten, not written" So we can rework our titles to be more catchy, or get new ones. Even the lyrics..though they came in a bit early.
Please tell me what you guys think. This is a world project..I am just facilitating the progress. Finally it will be a better world that has won. Thanks all of you.

Hey Frankie- I saw your post on the General Message Forum to go to this Lyric Feedback Forum, to continue the project; and to submit new titles. May I suggest you pick one of the two threads you posted here. Lets use only one. This one is newer, so this may be a good place to continue the project.
Hope this suggestion makes things easier.
Cal
P.S. Frankie, you may wish to post a message directing us to the dedicated thread you decide on; maybe at the begining, or end (in a reply) of the two threads you do not wish to use.

Given the sad news as to the curent Ivory Coast conflict esculation Frankie may have his hands full right now, so let's be a bit patient on this one Guys. Meantime, and relevant to the subject. Claudio Barberi, better known as Skankindaddy has, no doubt spurred by the situation, done a new version of our Onward Rightious Soldier song and it is on his site of which I paste the link to here: http://www.versionist.com/artist.php?artist=SKANKINDADDY Thought some may be interested in having a listen, and reflecting on the issues it addresses. Claudio has stroong ties to the Ivory Coast having lived and worked there for many years. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

Guess it is a good idea listening to Skankindaddy's thoughts..Actually the point is now made as to why I thought that we should have a world song. Peace seems to be so elusive in this world. In one second hell can break loose and war erupts. Think about those very innocent people who have to suffer and die in such circumstances. I actually grieved about the situation in Cote D'Ivoire..I had friends from there too and cannot imagine what will happen or has possibly happened to them..
We should all think about what we can do. It takes one person, two, three then many others to make a change or make others feel a little better. I would wish that we listen to the track and get to know the extent of trouble people have to undergo..we can have stronger ideas on our project by visualizing the situation. Please also have a look at my lyrics below. It may give us some drive to push ahead:
WE NEED SOME PEACE
Verse One Day by day hearts beat in fear and prayer Chances of survival grow slimmer and slimmer So much pain allover, so much sorrow Wonder how many will see tomorrow Tears cloud my eyes, seeing on television Thousands being killed in a bloody revolution Refugees fleeing, the burning homes down South Just hear the weeping and wailing up in the North Chorus We need some peace There are too many children crying We need some peace Too many men and women dying Our innocent people are suffering And the whole world's grieving We need some peace Peace for each and everyone
Verse Two Think of all the babies getting orphaned Sirens that keep blaring yet no one seems concerned Why are hundreds of tankers rolling West And police in the East making all the arrests Street riots, political disturbance Angry protesters putting up a resistance There's been too much evil going on for long And now time has come to stop doing our people wrong
Chorus We need some peace There are too many children crying We need some peace Too many men and women dying Our innocent people are suffering And the whole world's grieving We need some peace Peace for each and everyone

Thanks for your title. I wish to suggest that you change it to "Give the World a new face". What do you think. I think this would be shorter and easier to remember. Again it is to the point.

Hi Frankie
It's ok with me if you change the title.
Also like your lyrics, now are these lyrics for the world song? and are others suppose to add to this, or change anything if they think it will make the song better, or stronger?.

Thanks for co-operating on this project. Once there is the vision and we work hard towards that nothing can stop us.
My lyric however was just as a way of grieving about the situation in Cote D'Ivoire and other places at war. I already have a song done on that..It is an example of my work.
I thought it would encourage us more towards our project. Remember we are still working on titles till the end of this week. Come Monday we shall start on the lyrics. I need about twenty five titles if possible..if not I need untill next week. Meanwhile you can start selecting those titles you think are powerful enough..pick about three. Others will do so too.
Thanks so much.

I wonder how many have died needlessly around the world while we have been picking our noses here still wondering what to call anything if we ever get to write anything? More to the point. I wonder how many songs have actually been writen toward the subject in that time? I've done one and another waiting noise. I am afraid I have seen nothing in the progress, or lack of it, to change my opinion on the effectivness of like projects. Hi Graham
I think it is a high time I told you that we cannot go by your opinions! You seem to want everything to go your way..at your pace and with disregard to everyone else. I thought it is clear that this project is not for one, two or three people..it has to be for the world. If it will take a year or two to achieve our goal..I am ready..and I believe like-minded people are ready too. We are all songwriters here. The problem is not that we need someone to write for us. We are pretty good at it.
Please opt out of this project and start your own if you cannot be with us. I wonder too how many people have died as we continue to argue needlessly.

Frankie. I stated early in the piece, I have reservations how productive projects like this are. I also stated I would like to be proved wrong. Both situations still apply. Going by the what I have seen so far, and I check it out at least once a day, I have only seen one person, yourself, making the rules. I am not making rules. Nor am I arguing. Simply stating observations Frankie. I had hopes my last little comtribution would maybe stir some to a bit of action. You are on a public forum Frankie. One I have been on quite a while and I take an interest in all aspects of it's operation, so will continue to watch this project and hope some good does come out of it. In the interst of project harmony, I will be silent unless addressed directly, or mentioned in dispaches in a way that demands reply. To me - Peace is Just a Word Away seems to be the one with the most potential. How do you want to go about selecting the title to work from? Vote? Consensus? Put the list on the wall and throw darts? darts and a stout ale are always good for getting ideas flowing. ------------------ Marty listen here Is there a setting on the digital delay that will allow me to think before I speak?

Of all the titles I saw suggested, "Give the World a New Face" struck me best--I think because it was the least preachy, and evoked the most curiosity. Y'all's call.

Hello Folks
Thanks to all of you for working together on the first phase of the project. I must add that we have tried hard to be together. Let our driving force continue to be "A Better World". Agreements and disagreements are always there for as long as we find a way of handling them. Sorry if I was a little bit harsh a few times..it was for the sake of the project. Otherwise I would first like to list all of you who are with us on the project so we know who we are working with. It is good to control the number otherwise this next phase may be a lot more difficult.
1. Cal 2. Kendo 3. C.C. Cherrier 4. Emmy 5. Tominbonham 6. D*Rock 7. Tampstan 8. Doug 9. Adams (ECA333) 10. John Voorpostel 11. Joe (Roxhythe) 12. Frankie
Next, I would like us to each choose titles that we think 'resonate well with the topic of a better world'. I mean..choose one title only that you think is powerful enough out of the twenty one that we finally have.
We will then shortlist them and come to a consensus before we start on the lyrics. We only have up to Monday (11-22-2004) to come up with titles. Those we have by then are the only ones that we will work with.
As of the Lyrics I wish to prepare us for lyrics that will have the following bearings as a guideline:
1. War in the world 2. Racial Discrimination 3. Crime 4. Corruption and other social evils 5. Helping those in some kind of need anywhere in the world
The basic aim is to have a song that will cover beyond war..there are lots of other things to think of. If any of you have other suggestions please put them forward.
P.S. Please remember to copyright any piece of lyric you will send..just to avoid any future trouble (of course this comes from Tuesday (11-23-2004)). Any titles left out will for sure be used on other future projects.
P.P.S.
Here are the titles as chosen by now
1. Peace is just a Word Away (Chosen By Graham, Tampastan and Mart Helly) Tampastan suggests that this title be twisted a little bit to be more meaningful 2. Give the world a new face (Chosen by Frank, Roxhythe, Emmy) 3. Peace is just a World Away (Chosen by Cal)

Ofv all of them, I like Peace Is Just A Word Away, but looking at the aims Frank sets out, I decided it may be worth a thought tom change that ot Just A Word Away, as it leaves the options open to be bent to say one of the other aspect can be addressed. Thinking further, I decided it was even better as, A Word Away. That leaves it really open and so flexable. Just a word away. May be only a word away. Is only a word away. We could be a word away from whatever. And a whole heap more. Probably the biggest chance to use a hook to the limit without it getting boring I have seen for a long time. I, by the way, have used the phrase For The World's Sake which my second thought on titles here in a song which Skankingdaddy has since noised and recorded. It is called Show The World We Care. No big deal, and doesn't stop it being used anywhere else. Is only word and not a major line. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

Hello Guys
This is lyric time..please post only four lines of your lyric - for the first verse of our song..only four lines first then we see what to do. I believe it is going to get interesting..we will not through away anything. We will re-use it - if not in this first song, then the next or on other projects.
Please confine your lyric to the subject matter as we stipulated..talk about
1. War in the world 2. Racial Discrimination 3. Crime 4. Corruption and other social evils 5. Helping those in some kind of need anywhere in the world
Thanks guys let's see what we have as from tomorrow (11-23-2004).
Have some superb time writing!

That's true Cal! But I haven't seen you guys select a title yet. I have. A few other guys have. I thought by now as we said before.. you guys would have done your part. Now it seems we have to wait a little bit. Check in my previous reply..I had listed the selected titles so far as:- 1. Peace is just a Word Away 2. Give the World a New Face Please add onto this.
As per the lyrics..I think I personally have something that I will just twist a little to fit with the Hook. Remember I suggested that we talk about War, Crime, Racism and other social evils..I worked towards this.
Come on Cal..what are your suggestions???

Yes Frankie- People have made suggestions; but you have not set up an actual system to "pick" or vote on a title. You're in charge- how about it?

Hi guys
Pleas send no more titles. We already have reached our target of 26 as you can see.
Pleas select a title each so that we can have twelve. The one with the highest number of votes is the one we will work with first. The rest we definetely will see what to do with. Please see that we can come up with a couple of songs here. This is just for a start. If they tie, then we will do a reselection!
I will keep you posted on the titles chosen. Please do this up to Thursday (11-25-2004). We will select a title by Friday (11-26-2004) and start sending the lyrics. This will be whether or not all of us will have selected titles..just to keep things in order - otherwise we may take too long.

A couple of suggestions: This being an open forum, the voting should be open to all JPF members who are interested in picking a title, if they choose to work on the song or not. This would give a larger, and more accurate opinion. Less chance for a tie. Anyone who wishes to add anything to the project (at any time) should be welcome. This song (lyric/project) should not be limited, only to the ones who posted titles. Also, pick ONE title, to work with- This project will be complicated as it is, without digressing off the track. To consider working on more than one song (or title) would be a mistake. If the chosen title doesn't work, it can be altered, or removed, and the runner up can replace it.

Thanks Cal
I think your idea is superb. I will allow all to select a title. But please let us agree that only those we chose will do the songwriting..otherwise we may complicate things and be unable to move forward. All Jp Folks can help in doing a critique as we move on however.
About having several songs I meant that we will do that later. Furthermore we may have these as individual songs. I came up with this idea so that it can generate other ideas. The more songs we will have the better the chances that we will succeed in our mission. More of our message will get through to the world.
We shall write only a song at a time.
Thanks guys and please try to hurry in your selection of titles. Good luck

Hi Emmy
Please choose a title. Remember that I altered your previous on e a little and would like to know whether you are ok with it "Give the world a new face" or perhaps you wish to choose something else. We are just about to start on lyric writing..What do you say?

Hi Frankie,
I'm late with this, was away from the computer for the holiday.
So if I'm to late for picking my choice, it's ok, I'm sure there is enough people to choose the right title for this song.
I'm ok with the change to my title, " Give the world a new face" Thanks. Emmy

Hello Emmy
Happy new year to you. Actually, the project is not dead. We are determined like never before to push forward with it. Especially on this new year.
We reached the level of choosing titles and Folks sort of took too long to do so. I am reposting all the suggested titles so that once and for all we can select and start the project as soon as possible.
Thanks for being concerned - we are doing this for the world.

I believe that song title has been used by Elton John (aka Young mans blues) - with the exception of the horrible misspelling of a tool once used for female hygiene. Ignore the child Frankie.
My pick would be the same as Graham - Peace is just a word away

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by sean_x_006: how about this song? screw you dooshbag !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</font> Hey sean- I am going to take a constructive approach on your comment. I don't know or cannot think of any reason you would post such a comment. I have looked at a few of your lyrics. You do have some talent, also a lot to learn about lyric writing, and life itself. You mentioned you were 15 years old. My suggestion is: Work on making people happy. Why not try to give the public a great impression of you, and your skills. You can act like an 4, 8, 10 year old if you wish; If you do not want to be accepted by your pears, the best thing to do is to insult them. Maybe consider making a change in your attitude. You may go a long way. You attract more bees with honey, than crap. Cal

1. Cal 2. Graham 3. C.C. Cherrier 4.
P.S. Please remember to copyright any piece of lyric you will send..just to avoid any future trouble (Any titles left out will for sure be used on other future projects).
P.P.S.
Here are the titles as chosen by now 1. Peace is just a Word Away (Chosen By Graham, Mart Helly, Doug)- originally was Cal's idea 2. Give the world a new face (Chosen by Frank, Roxhythe, Emmy, Kendo) 3. Peace is just a World Away (Chosen by Cal)

Hi Frankie- A project of this nature will take time, determination, and will not be easy to complete. I admire you for your fortitude, and commitment. Keep up the good work.

Peace is just a word away was originally posted by Michael Meal I believe. It is a totally differant title to Peace Is Just A World Away as posted by Cal. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

Graham- I'm not going to bicker regarding who wrote what; Michael's title is a direct copy (take) from my original title. One letter "l" was removed. I agree the re-written title does have a different meaning. At the same time, credit should be given where credit is due. To both authors.
Why are you so concerned about this anyways? It's not even your creation. I don't see Michael concerned about it. I would be very happy if either title were picked; or any other good title.
Cal

Simply to give credit where credit is due in line with Frankie's ask. That one letter made the title say a whole new thing, and so was a whole new title as you state Cal. No bicker whatsoever from me. Just the facts. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

</font> O.K. I realize that technically the new edited title is considered a new title, but I never stated the edit made it "a whole new title" as you just misquoted me. That one word (letter)only changed part of the meaning- Peace Is Just A ____ Away, is actually the body of the theme- the "what" is a concept used to explain the idea. You can't have one without the other. We can inject many different words, but the initial idea remains the same. lol Cal [This message has been edited by Cal (edited 01-10-2005).]

Cal you said: I agree the re-written title does have a different meaning. End quote. That indicates to me you said " I agree the re-written title does have a different meaning." And I agree with that. Peace is Just a word away says peace could be as close as someone saying sorry. A very good message to my mind. Peace is just a world away doesn't. I thibnk it is time for e to take my hat out of the3 ring Guys. When I see how many songs have been writeen toward the subjects suggested here in the time we are still struggling for a title, I believe the time can be spent more productivly elsewhere. Best of luck with it guys. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm

Every good thing does not come the easy way. Please let us stick to the goal and do the needful. Let us for once close our eyes to intrigue and think about why we even started the project. At the end of the day what will matter is what we did with the project. Who did what will come later..Could we please exercise tolerance and forgiveness for this year?
P.S. Good things come two doors away..we have taken quite sometime..I believe we will come up with an everlasting song for the world. That is more important to me. I have also personally written many more songs..Graham we need you..and we need Cal too..if you are committed to the goal for the world we will not back off the project.
Please folks, let us choose titles and proceed. I am patient and need each of you who expressed interest in the project. It is painful to see what happened in Asia recently..I do not wish to drag it to this project but what has struck me is how the world has come together to support the victims, without anyone saying.."I am the one who started helping"..Could we proceed with the world in mind..and not personal interests. Thanks guys

Hi Frankie, Got a question, is this open for choosing a title, only by the 12 people you list above ? or can anyone who lists in these forums choose, or at least all those who have a title listed ? or have all but 12 lost interest? Just wondering, if its just the 12, we only need 5 more people to make a choice, right?.
