Welcome to JPF: I attempted to listen to the spotify link but was not willing to join in order to hear a song from someone who has never posted a song with us before. Sorry.
Is it Charles Roberts or Joe Kearns? The name on the front of the "Record Jacket" is different.
I hope you'll take time to participate and tell us more about yourself, your music objectives and simply share ideas and perspectives with us. If you need assistance on anything, don't be shy. JPF is generally, an outgoing, friendly and helpful site.
All the best, ----Dave

Hello Dave, I am Joe Kearns. The song Shadowy passenger does feature Charles Roberts. He does a lead guitar track(the second lead). He also did the mixing and mastering on Shadowy. Below are the Youtube links to the 2 singles I have released. My first instrument was the trombone. In the 1980's I picked up bass guitar and was in a garage band called Darden. We did some covers but mostly just experimented In the Late 80's I was in three different bands, KGB Runner and Wizards Rage. All were original bands We did try covers and did play out some. KGB and Runner did record Demos but really never went farther than that. It was during this time that I really started to learn bass. In the early 90's I was in a band called Mantra. We did both originals and covers. It was in this band where I really understood how to play. I was surround by members that were very creative and naturals in their art. That pushed me so much. This band played out and did 2 recording sessions. However due to that wonderful band drama we have all experienced the band broke up. From that point on until the past few years I not in bands I dove deep into making music with midi and my bass. The song decades of exile was done totally in Cakewalk home studio. Every note was clicked in by hand. The version below is not the cakewalk version. Back 3 or 4 years I jammed with Chuck AKA Charles Roberts(He was also in Wizards Rage and Mantra). He had set up a decent home studio and we played thruhead phones and just jammed. I had just bought a PRS and an ovation. Prior to this I had very poor/Cheap guitars. Which hampered my ability more than I ever imagined. Chuck was using logic. A couple years laterI dove in and bought a MAC and got logic. Then I also bought a Variax. Between having nice guitars and logic I was able to take my songs to a new level. Something finally sparked. My main goal is just to advance my guitar playing, record and also join a band. I am checking out an Original/Cover band in January that needs a bass player. Also still in search of a drummer. If you know if an available drummer in the Orlando Florida area let me know and I can pass the info to band leader. So below Decades of Exile basically represents my years making music alone no one hearing it. Shadowy passenger is that transition to become more public. Shadowy is kind of two songs in one. The first half is mostly midi I do play bass. The second half of the song pretty much all played(overdubbed ETC) I do the lead guitar just before the words start. Chuck Roberts does the second lead. The Drummers are the Logic virtual drummer. I have tweaked the drums but am still learning that portion of the software. The rest of the instruments is me playing. You tube links Shadowy Passenger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yNU_L7G11cDecades of Exile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qwS8RF0j3II stated in the Original Post I am awaiting the release of my EP it has been sent to the stores. I am hoping that the delay is just the holidays an not an issue with something, All are original so I don't for see any issues.

Thanks for sharing that with us, Joe:
Again, "Welcome to JPF." Your goals are reasonable and reachable! Here's wishing you success and happiness as you continue your journey. I'll do my best to get back as soon as possible and give a listen and look at the links you provided.
All the best... and... "Happy New Year!"
