What a beautiful Sunday morning in Decatur, Alabama smile

https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=15048348

I read the Word, I watch the news
I write a song with my guitar
I see the mystery of eternity
In the sun, moon, and stars
Right before my eyes

I recall all the stories
That have blessed so many lives
Holy destiny manifests its glory
Right before my eyes

The desert blooms by His hand
The dusty bones dance again
A rising lion in the sand
Right before my eyes

I read the Word, I watch the news
I write a song with my guitar
I see the mystery of eternity
In the sun, moon, and stars
Right before my eyes

History and prophetic verse
Ancient proof for the wise
A Holy God keeps His promises
Right before my eyes

Those who only sow confusion
Suffer from a strong delusion
And refuse to hear, refuse to see

I read the Word, I watch the news
I write a song with my guitar
I see the mystery of eternity
In the sun, moon, and stars
Right before my eyes

Good tight, economic lyric, wasn't expecting the blues, lyric is not the blues.

But that's your style I guess, when first read the lyrics I was thinking singer songwriter like cat Stevens .

Drums sound great,if I miss anything about home recording its doing the drums. I mastered ez drums and got really good at it.

Now not sure if I'll ever need it again

EZDrummer is just a MIDI trigger program. You need to dig deeper into the MIDI graph and start creating your own drum patterns! Or, just edit the presets if they're close enough to what you want. LOTS OF FUN!

Thanx

I was using patterns but I was constantly cutting and pasting, plus if you own enough of the style sets there's something there for you in any situation.

Cymbals are only thing I think that lacks a little

I did go into midi mode often to change dead kick to a very like, or to change a beat that I can't find anywhere. Its hours of stringing segments together

I focus on the song segments... V-Ch-Br-Solo... Generally, you only need 4-5 different pattern loops to create a song. The rest is just fills and accents.

What I find difficult about "only" using presets is that they're all in a different style/swing/intensity. They generally don't mix well when you just "string them together."

Yeah and the hits are heavier or lighter.

You can buy a whole program of just generic beats, literally thousands of them, then through the m into the kit.

The stock library in EZD plus the drum program in Logic is more than I'll ever need lol. Just scanning all the different styles with a chorus in mind is good for inspiration... But, you're right, I typically land on something "bluesy" wink

Another trick is to start with a rhythm pattern that's supposed to be really fast (150/180bpm) and turn it way down to 40/50... or vise-versa.

You can come up with some really different stuff like that... especially if you get into odd time signatures smile
