In Nashville’s writing rooms, lyricists are increasingly using AI as a rough sketch tool rather than a finished product. They’ll feed a prompt—genre, theme, a hook line—into a tool and get back half-a-dozen “first draft” lyrics or rhyme options. Then the writer takes those raw bits, throws out what doesn’t simmer, and refines the rest until it carries their voice. For example, one songwriter entered a simple title into an AI chatbot and got a full verse about waves and love—a starting point they rewrote and molded into something real.
But even among these experimenting writers, there’s a clear line drawn around emotional truth. Many say AI can suggest imagery, cadences, or phrases, but it can’t feel heartbreak, guilt, or hope in recalibration the way a human can. In other words, it might give you the scaffolding of a lyric, but the soul-bearing lines still come from the writer’s life, scars and all. That’s why in many rooms you’ll see AI used to clear the blank page, then the human writer takes over to infuse story, tone, and authenticity.
We’re all built from the same dust and dreams, Different roads, but the same means.

Hey Ben, Thanks for posting this Nashville snapshot. It rings true, to me, because it is a logic use of AI technology…the artist as gatekeeper in essence. Bill

Hey Ben, Thanks for posting this Nashville snapshot. It rings true, to me, because it is a logic use of AI technology…the artist as gatekeeper in essence. Bill Basically . But it's lying in that snap-shot . AI can write emotional lines, but needs a human to sing it with a heartbeat . But it's only scraping thru billions of data what humans already wrote . When AI can write complete originality , why would we need humans ?. Its not quite a prodigy yet . Humans might come down to just being translators of a prodigy AI.

Probably sounds too generic to not have been done already . Yes it's been done , several times. Always amazes me people write a hook thats been done . but you can write 15 original hooks by noon.
Then that lazy ass excuse you can't copywrite a title. Yes and your a thief .

Some metaphors are so good, they can be used over and over. Heart..yeah, staying alive.
AI borrows emotion . Mimics emotion. Then misplaces it.

Wow. I’ve heard that hook before, but that writer with their verses and chorus, gave it a whole different meaning. I’m so impressed. Wow get some contracts quick! lol

[quote=John Voorpostel]"Talent borrows, genius steals".....[/quote
You mean talentless steals . Thats another false cliche. ...talentless steals is an ordinal hook . if you write Imagine your a thief and.talentless Envy is the mother of invention . Thats why I wrote talentless steals cuz I envy John. But I never would write Imagine
Here's the thing about quotes . I only works for the person who wrote it So you write your own and it works for you
