let me riff a bit because I see a lot of about and needs more of what happened to me..emotional, financial etc and really, it is only the latest in foibles from the stupid moves menu
waiting for gas, waiting in line seems like a fool walked across it this time deep in my pockets, couch has no change don't know if I'll find the money to pay for it
we're gonna have to pay for it every mistake of his today it's the strait that is we're gonna have to pay for it
suits in the harbour suits in the sky everybody willing to cross that line legal or not, nobody cares don't know if I'll find the money to pay for it
we're gonna have to pay for it every mistake of his today it's the strait that is we're gonna have to pay for it
more resignations more power abused more retribution more widely excused one thing is certain no thing is more sure we're all on the hook when the bill's comin due
we're gonna have to pay for it every mistake of his today it's the strait that is we're gonna have to pay for it
kk over to you to play with it if you like John posted this in a different thread and I found his lines inspiring. I wanted to find out what they could sound like, so I added a bridge and ran them through Suno. I was surprised how good it sounded. I thought this deserved its own thread. This is a Voorpostel/Baitinger collab. We’re Gonna Have To Pay For Ithttps://suno.com/s/FVG1gKuDcPHEEXDy[Intro] Whoa, Whoa Whoa, Whoa [Verse] Waiting for gas, waiting in line Feels like a fool crossed it this time Deep in my pockets, nothing but dust Do I have what it takes to cover the cost [Verse] Suits in the harbor, suits in the sky Everybody ready to step over the line Legal or not, nobody cares Do I have what it takes to cover my share [Chorus] Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Every mistake of his Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Today it’s the strait we’re in We’re gonna have to pay for it [Break] [Verse] More resignations, more power abused More retribution quietly excused One thing’s certain, nothing is sure We’re on the hook when the bill comes due [Chorus] Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Every mistake of his Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Today it’s the strait we’re in We’re gonna have to pay for it [Bridge] Hands on the meter, watchin’ it climb Counting the cost one dollar at a time They make the moves, we take the fall Funny how the little guy pays it all [Interlude] Whoa, Whoa Whoa, Whoa [Final chorus] Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Every mistake of his Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Today it’s the strait we’re in We’re gonna have to pay for it [Outro] Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it Whoa, we’re gonna have to pay for it We’re gonna have to pay for it

Good morning Rachel.
In this matter, there is a solid case to be made which asks..."what price do you want to pay and when?"
The situation has ancient roots:
722 BC - Sargon defeated the northern Kingdom and sent them into exile. 597 BC - King Nebuchadnezzar II defeated the northern Kingdom and sent them into exile. 135 AD - Hadrian destroyed the state of Israel. 1948 AD - May 14 - The state of Israel was recreated. 1948 AD - May 15 - Israel was invaded by a coalition of armies from 5 Arab countries which did not include Iran, which was allied with the West at the time. But that changed. 2023 AD - Oct 07 - Israel was invaded in an ambush and several hundred of its inhabitants slaughtered by Iranian proxies.
That doesn't even include enough events to even be considered skeletal.
So now the world is looking at a theocratic regime that unmercifully slaughters thousands of its own citizens for daring to oppose it.
Question: Do you believe that is just untrue, Western propaganda?
That same theocratic regime thinks that God hates Israel and considers it a scourge upon Muslim land that must be fully destroyed. That same theocratic regime celebrates a national holiday, every November 4 (the 13th of Aban in the Iranian calendar). The Western media and some politicians occasionally refer to it as "Death to America Day," its official name is the "National Day of Fight against Global Arrogance" and "Pupil Day" (or Student Day). That theocratic regime leads crowds in chants of "death to American," "death to Israel."
Here is where is gets murky in the minds of neo-Neville Chamberlain appeasers:
Only a fool would assume that this theocracy does not mean what they say regarding the West and specifically Israel. Only a fool would assume that this theocracy was not trying to achieve a nuclear device.
Question: Why would they not be? Only a fool would believe that the West can achieve un-policed treaties with a theocracy which believes that God hates our un-pure, blasphemous existence.
Conclusion: It is a high probability that,
This theocracy does in fact, intend and plan for the eradication of Israel. This theocracy has been in the process of spending oil revenue on weaponry for itself and its proxies for decades. This theocracy is fully intent on achieving a nuclear weapon that could kill a country of 10 million in one or two explosions. This theocracy would consider eradication a holy victory, won on behalf of God. This theocracy has been chumping chumps like Obama and Kerry for decades in these efforts and goals.
But, then a convergence occurred.... The proxies attack unarmed party-goers on 10/07/2023. Netanyahu is president of Israel. Trump is elected President of the United States. A disruption occurs in events that have been patterned for decades. All of a sudden, Iran is subject to attack.
So Rachel, What is your bet? Can this theocracy be reasoned with and all hostilities be avoided for now and forevermore? Do the events of the past few decades suggest that? Or will they continue their quest for a nuclear device that will ultimately make them a threat to the welfare of the world.
Questions: Do you really believe that these theocrats are not pursuing a nuclear weapon? So, pay now, pay later or never have to pay?
Tired footnote Rachel, If these people are allowed to gain a nuke and hellfire breaks out on the other side of the world, the US, at great expense...will once again...have to be the force that goes against it.
The one bit of good news... These theocrats have seen and felt their own hellfire 10/07/2023 to an exponential. Now they know what it can look like. Trump and Netanyahu have achieved their degradation already.
It may come down to who, a random individual, is rooting for in this clash of cultures and weapons. Who are you rooting for?
So Rachel, what is your bet ...and what are you willing to pay ...and when?
Gotta go. Lovely chat.
Ps...Since you have advocated for Rachel Maddow and her show, I assume that your words are largely derived from her words, so I am addressing the two of you here, collectively as "Rachel."

Marty, I’d appreciate you using my name rather than grouping me in with someone else.
I’m not here to place bets or debate geopolitics at that level. For what it’s worth, there was a nuclear agreement with Iran (the JCPOA) that addressed these concerns before it was abandoned by Trump in 2018.
Our song isn’t trying to solve the situation or take sides - it’s about the pressure and the consequences when things escalate. The longer it drags on, the more it feels like we’re all going to have to pay for it, one way or another. That’s really the lane I’m trying to stay in here and I'm sure John will agree.

Nothing wrong with writing it in a lyric as art though... Aohn I appreciate that you have stopped posting political. Good move. But, 2 things... 1) Your "lyric as art" statement holds no water. Songs which contain lyrics, have a message. The message of the lyrics is a primary element or they would not be there. To have to listen to a clearly expressed political statement, yet be denied redress or critique of the message itself...? ...is tantamount to being asked to write an essay on the dependability of your current automobile, yet denied any mention of the engine. No sale there. 2) This site has drifted away from "songs." The writings of yourself and Moe evidence that as much as anything else. As for me... If I see a really good song posted, I might give an attaboy or attagirl...but this is not one, yet is a political statement barely veiled as a "song." So I will respond to what I see.... until banned. Gotta go today. Can't get back to any of this until tomorrow morning or the next or next. Have a pleasant day.

Rachel, collectively, works for me. I see you as her extension. Your song is about taking sides. You have publicly bashed Trump more times than you can count. You have long since..."taken sides." The history of humanity is as much the history of war as anything else. A truly thinking person has to look at this situation, assess probable outcomes as best they can with the information available to them. and decide what they think is predicted to be the outcome yielding the "greatest good." That is what we are watching play out right now. That is almost always going to involve picking a side. Otherwise, its just pointless and endless, "woe is me." Reality responds to that with..."Frankly my dear (Scarlet), I don't give a damn." Truly gotta go. Be back some future morning.
