Any suggestions for software to create sound files from my CD. If possible, I would like to buy just one program to create sound files for my website as well as the MP3 site.

If you already have a CD-ROM drive and can use it to extract the WAV files from your CD, you don't need to buy anything else. There is free software available to convert from WAV to MP3. The one I use for my MP3 page and my personal web page is called Electronic Cosmo's MPEG Suite. It is available at http://soundstorm.chat.ru/main.htm?mis36871 . It's actually a front end for a few different encoders, but I find the default one to be not only the fastest, but to produce the best quality (this is counter-intuitive, since you usually spend more time to get more quality). ------------------ Vic http://www.mp3.com/VictorWilburn

MusicMatch Jukebox is good for ripping CD's into WAV or Mp3 or WMA files. Can also convert WAV to Mp3 or vice versa. And it'll allow you to burn CDR's from Mp3 file lists. AND there's a free version available. http://www.musicmatch.com/home Pat

The Blade encoder is one of the ones that comes with Electronic Cosmo's MPEG Suite. I have found it to be both much slower and not as high-quality as Electronic Cosmo's default encoder.

We used Music Match and Easy CD Creator to do most of our CD Burning for the music awards last year. Both programs are very simplistic and worked for our needs. There are some other programs listed in the Demographics Results you might want to check as well.
