http://www.soundclick.com/pro/default.cfm?BandID=193307&content=music I hope that the message in this song shows that this is not a sexist song. Just a Girl Words and music by Tom Franz 2005 Shes confident and ambitious Shes kind and unpretentious Shes got dreams to grow She cries at movies She loves all babies Sometimes she feels low And when shes sad It makes me feel bad Cause of the joy she helped me know Chorus Shes just a girl Shes just my world Shes just a girl Shes just my world Shes the best thing about me The future that I see Id give my life to protect her Cause shes just a girl Too honest for her own good Thinks people will act just like they should Shes so smart and so nave Shed give you her last dime Shes sure it will work out fine Melts my heart what she believes She made me twice the man Now life I can withstand My troubled soul she has relieved Chorus [This message has been edited by Somefellow (edited 05-06-2005).]

I really like this, Tom. I hear a variety of sounds-Motown, for one. It's romantic. That first verse is SO cool. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Nice job. Best of luck with it. ------------------ "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you will land among the stars." -- Les Brown http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/triciabakermusic.htm
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Michael, Thanks on the guitar comment. If I keep playing everyday I might learn half of what you can do.
Tom, huge compliment thank you.
Tricia,I am glad you liked it and were not offended. It has raised some eyebrows.
Shelia, you are my hero when it comes to songwriting.

Well Tom........Overall I like it! I love your voice, you got that Neil Young thing going on which is awesome. The guitar opening is real nice!! The only thing that I don't really like is the beat.....but I'm not a big fan of the whole computer generated rhtyhm thing, it fits the song, I just have a personal pet peeve with the electronic drum kit sounds. But what are you to do unless you are a drummer and have a acoustic kit in your studio. But overall....very nice! Melanie

Wow! I really like this, very organic. Kinda gave me a Bowie/Tom Waits vibe. Two thumbs up here! Rob ------------------ I used to be indecisive, now I'm not sure... My Songs

Melanie, Thank you for the listen. Yeah a drum machine is all I have right now. I have always been a lone musician and I think I have died and gone to heaven to have that. But you are right there is nothing like the real thing.
RJC, Thank you. I'd sell my soul to be able to play like you though.

Hey Tom, Another fine demo, great guitar work and vocal harmonies. Good lyrics too! Is this about your wife or daughter? Guess it could go either way. Important thing it's YOUR girl! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) Good work, keep it up! Michael, You are right it could go either way, how about that. I had not thought of that. And thank you for the listen and the kind comments.
Prizm, Thanks for the listen and the nice comments. I did listen to your song and gave it a critique. I thought the melody was top notch.

Tom;
Nice work man! I've always liked your voice and this song is no exception. I like the guitar effects it really adds to the ambiance. You got my wife to poke her head in from the kitchen to ask "Who's That?" A very high compliment indeed.
The best to Ya' Unc

Unc! Welcome my friend. So nice to hear from you. Remember New Orleans is one of my favorite songs ever.
Thanks to you and your wife for the fine compliment. Yeah I am getting addicted to my little tremolo effect pedal.
My wife, the person I wrote this about, did not like my voice on this. Oh well what does she know. . . she married me.
Can't wait to hear more of your songs, Tom
