Is anyone familiar with this outfit?,they will send your demo out to however many publishers you wish for what seems to be a small fee.They have the connections(so they say),they will also type your cover letter as well.I could use a springboard like this! whats your guys opinion?

I dunno anything at all bout this company, but here's an observation.

If I had "connections" with biz types, I'd NEVER offer to share them with anyone for a fee. What if someone paid me to send an awful song to one of my connections? I'd lose the connections...the connection would be asking me why I'm wasting their time with an awful song, and would probably never again listen to something I sent them.

So, I have no idea what this company's deal is, but if they're sending songs by anyone who pays to their connections, then their connections won't be connections for long.

I'd get more data. Are they sending your cover letter and material to people that they actually know personally? Can you get a list of these "connections" and ask a question related to Mike's reply such as "why would your connections take all qualities of submissions?"

Usually, legit companies do not ask for money up front.

Anyone can take your money and then get a copy of Songwriters Market and send your song to anyone in it. Big deal.

Anytime ANYONE (yes.. I mean ANYONE) says pay me X amount of money and I will get your song to my contacts, it's a scam. The reason it is a scam is because they aren't qualifying your music. If you suck they do the same thing as if you're really good. If their contacts don't mind getting stuff that sucks, then they are worthless contacts or (and it's quite common actually) they are PART of the scam. That's what is typically happening when someone offers that and lists the name of their contacts. In nearly every case, those people are getting a cut of your money. That is a scam.

Thanks,that all makes sense to me.I even wrote an e-mail to them in regards to some of the questions I have and all they gave me was a list of satisfied customers(anyone can make that list up).Anyway thanks for the feedback!

Anybody can say they have contacts and open up a book ..

I once had a Rolladex that I was offered several thousand dollars for....These were home phone numbers , private lines , addys and other info. I refused the offer. Could I have used the money,sure. But it was way beyond money ....Consider, trust, ethics, friends, relationships that dated back many years...I think not. Dont sell out your friends and your business and yourself..

Music publishers used to be pretty good about telling another publisher that so and so was looking for a song or two...But you had to know how to make the contact.

In my career , I manytimes told other publishers about a producer ,etc. who was looking for a song. Sometimes I just didnt have a song that fit, so just passed the info along.

Anyone can have a contact....But just what is that contaCT ,REALLY.
