This one wasn't really a pepperoni dream, it was actually from Reeses Peanut Butter Cups... Fresh ink, hope ya like it.

This is one of the more unusual pieces I've seen of yours. I like it. Seems somewhat experimental. The setting of a dream allows things to happen that don't in ordinary life. Kind of like what you can do in cartoons that you can't in a live action sequence.

What was the inspiration for this? Seems like a push in a new direction for you lyrically.

I woke up to a phone call in the middle of my REM sleep, and words started falling out. This is the result. I often wake with remnants of dreams, some strange, some not. This one, I don't really remember the dream, only the lyrics starting in my brain... I let it go where it took me. Interestin' huh?

I'm glad you got a kick out of reading this one. I really got a kick out of writing it. When this lyric starting floating throgh my head, I almost said the heck with it, and went back to bed. I lose more songs that way. Before I knew it the first verse/chorus, was there and I couldn't let it get away. Like everyone has noted, it's not my usual style. I think I've told Kaley before, any time she wants to have a go at one of mine, she's welcome to. I like her childrens songs. I hope she sees it before it disappears. Thanks for the read, and the kind words. I was actually stuck, right after the first chorus, for about five minutes. I closed my eyes, and imagined how I would play pond ping pong. Those lines you like are the result. Once upon a time, I played ping pong with some of the best in the USA. I wasn't as good as them, but the very best player we had ever fielded, taught me how to play. He was the only American to beat the Chinese when they brought their team over in the 60's. Oops! I better watch it, I'll give away my age. Thanks again.

Very fun one here, John. Has sort of a fairy tale quality to it. Maybe if Pixar comes out with some superhero Frog (the Mutant Ninja...oh no, those were the TURTLES!), you'll need to be the first in line for the sound track.

I agree, dreams are certainly a ripe vehicle for taking a step outside the realm of reality. I have a lot of the classic ones (teeth falling out, floating, etc.), but then some really obcure ones...but I do like to try to figure them out. From what I understand, whatever you dream about on a given night (we ALL dream, whether you remember them or not...on average, four a night) is triggered by something which has happened/been thought about in the 72 hours leading up to the dream.

I'm trying to "train" my kids to remember their dreams, and the few they've come up with have been doozies. As they watch my reaction, I'm not sure whether or not they're just making them up, but as far as I'm concerned, it's a win-win....it keeps me entertained...and their creative juices flowing.

I think I'll try that the next time I get woken up in the middle of REM sleep! But there is something about letting the words take you where they take you...gotta grab 'em when they show themselves...

This is lots of fun. Loads of different images. Could easily attract kids. Inventive work here!

Thanks for the read, glad you like it. Dreams are a great way for the mind to get out of reality for a while. I think our minds know we need to escape from time to time. This one was definitely an escape. I dream plenty. Sometimes, like this, I can catch parts of them in song. They usually turn out to be decent lyric. Thanks again.

I usually treasure my sleep so much it takes an avalanche to get me out of bed. That's why I've lost a lot of lyrics that way. If they're powerful enough, they come back and haunt me till I write them. I'm glad this one hit you. I do love writing for kids. I think this may hit the adult kids too. At least I hope so. Very fun little lyric and nice it came out of a dream. I enjoyed the heck out of it very surreal and isn't amazing the things our minds come up with while we sleep? If only we could come up with the while awake (short of taking illicit drugs). Very fun you must do music for this one if for no other reason than we need a background track for the story lol.

I have been known to take a sip or three now 'n then, but that's not how thissun came about. Maybe flashbacks from the 60's... I'm glad you like this one. It's a bit of a stretch from my usual, "Very about life", songs. I do like imagery, it just doesn't come very often as strong as this one did. Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks for the read, and the kind words. The reason I worded the bridge that way was because I really like the idea of the croak trapped in the bubble. I've seen that so often in the cartoons I thought it would be funny in song too. I do like yours, but for now I'm gonna keep thissun as is. And yes, frogs are great fun. They even taste good...

This is quite cool...sounds like something that could have been made in 1971 by a band like Ultimate Spinach... Or maybe Jefferson Airplane... fun little lyrical trip.

Thanks for the read friend. The funny thing about me writing out of that proverbial box is, I never really try to. You can definitely tell when I have though. They really stand out from my other work. No way you're going to call them country, or gospel. Thanks for the great compliments. I don't know where this one will go, but I could see a pitch to kids TV, or sound track to video game etc.

Most everything has already been said, so I'll just say I like it. It would definitely make a nice novelty song, depending on the music/marketing.
