The Last Christmas Apart (c) 2001 dawg for Bobbie....Merry Christmas, darlin'
Its taken a lifetime to find you. decades of mistakes and missed starts. We smile as we spend Christmas day packing for, it will be our last Christmas apart.
We'll be together by New Years. A new town, new house a fresh start The champagne is already chilling for this will be our last Christmas apart.
The first months will surely be rough ones we'll draw on the love in our hearts next year, come this time, everything will be fine for this will be our last Christmas apart.
By summer, we'll be celebrating, having puzzled the pieces and parts. We'll know the reason belongs to this season for it will be our last Christmas apart.
It will be our last Christmas apart.

Oh, Dawg..... This is so sweet, it brought a tear to my eye. You and Bobbie have so much to look forward to, and though being apart today may not be easy....with so much promise for the near future, I am sure there are some smiles, too. By the way....loved the "mistakes and missed starts"---excellent! Merry Christmas....and an even Merrier New Year! Sunny ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif)

Not only will she love it because you wrote it for her. She'll love it because it's well done and nit free ('cept for the spelling of puzzled.) Beautiful Job. Hey, I just realized that when you guys share your family albums with company, they get both pictures and sound. Merry Christmas. Don't forget to pack the Mistletoe.

Merry Christmas Sunny,
and thank you ma'am. Yes she did like. Romantic women are sooo easy. (Didn't even nit me for taking the easy way out and using a refrain so I didn't have to write a chorus.) <G>
Thanks for the read and the kind words.

Merry Christmas Jean, sis.
Thank you but, I gotta correct one mis-impression here. They ain't gettin' no sound, not with my voice, which has been known to make dogs howl in pain and small children cry in fear.
Thanks for the read and the sweet words.

Yes, you have the names right, Peter...unless you want to use Windex and Bounty.
Merry Christmas to you and my thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

Dawg! I knew Bobbie was looking for this one! She was so excited about it! She was certainly not disappointed I'm sure. Now if someone could figure out a sweet, romantic tune for it so you can play it every Christmas and dance in one another's arms to "your own" song, I mean really and truly your own song. Lovely romance here. Best wishes on the days ahead, Dawg and Bobbie. If I wasn't so busy getting ready to go to I. C for radiation, I'd go to Co. and help Bobbie pack up, then I could stop and see my pa on the way back home,, but then if it weren't for all the "if's" in this world there would be a lot of things different, eh?

Ok Sharon,
I am not quite as musically inept as I say I am, and you will notice I kept the structure of this one reaaaal simple, so I can play it with a reaaaal simple four-chord progression.
You just worry about taking care of yourself and getting all better. You will be in our prayers, dear.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for the kind words and wishes.

C'mon Blake,
This ain't a Christmas present, it's just a song for goodness sake. Don't worry, I have a lil something for her that I am sure she will love.
dawg
No, not that. Get you mind out of the gutter!

You guys sure ain't ever guna have to go out into the hills and tap no maple tree Cobber. You got a life time supply of syrup in this litle lot. I don't have to worry none about you using the old salt and coke trick on me if i nit you but so I am gunna. I reckon you want to change that refrain to "We've spent our last Chrismas a part so it ties in to the latter verses better. Works fine on the first one but not so the subsequent ones. Regardsd. Merry Christmas Graham,
or however ya'll say it in Australian. When I wrote it, it was still Christmas morning, so we hadn't spent it yet....if that makes sense.
However, since the future always outlasts the past....(hey, that's a pretty darn good hook)I will concede your point and see what I can do about it.
Thanks for stopping in and helpin' out.

mayn be the case in songs Dawg but have a ponder on how many people who aimed at being someone of note who got shot down when past indiscretions or misdomeaners got brought to light and blew their future for them. Now that may be a better way to go. Regards. Graham ------------------ http://artists2.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Graham_Henderson/

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
