No music, but I hear it ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewartAngel Without Wings © words by C. Stewart ( Jan 23, 2008 ) Something happens in my mind Soon as she walks in Wonder if she notices All I do is grin CHORUS.... She's an angel without wings But I bet we could fly She's an angel without wings One kiss and I'm high Somethings floating through the room Hey I think it's me I can't take my eyes off her I love what I see CHORUS.... She's an angel without wings But I bet we could fly She's an angel without wings One kiss and I'm high Sometimes I just sit and stare I don't mean no harm In my lovely daydream there's No need for alarm CHORUS.... She's an angel without wings But I bet we could fly She's an angel without wings One kiss and I'm high Bridge.... Reality appears when She smiles at him Colors dissappear and My daydream gets dim CHORUS.... She's an angel without wings But I bet we could fly She's an angel without wings One kiss and I'm high

I often wish I could write in this sort of whimsical way that seems to come naturally to you. I was pullin' for him to hook up with her 'til you busted my bubble in the bridge...ha...MJ

"KUDOS" Neighbor...this is that "Moment of Love-Recognition" kinda Song that sells Millions. (Even tho the "Touch of Reality" in da Bridge does kinda dampen Enthusiasm a wee-bit.)
BUT...endin' with that Nifty Chorus DOES keep the "Hope Level" high & Happy at the endin'. Really Good Stuff here!
Good Luck with it, Amigo!

Hi Calvin,
You don't need music to hear this one. Well done. All songs don't have to end up with all our wishes fulfilled. Keep writing...

Calvin, Ahhhhh.......you carefully bring us along so sweetly and then oh, so sorrowful... Even so, I like the bridge: Reality appears when She smiles at him Colors dissappear and My daydream gets dim Nice work! Kristi

Hey Calvin
I'm right there with John Hoffman; really can hear this one playing. I really like the way you handled the bridge. Sometimes life isn't all fairy tales and fantasy (most times it isn't). Bringing us back to reality in such a smooth way really gives this one heart. It makes me wanna cheer for the guy too, cause even though his heart sinks in the bridge he's right back in it as the chorus begins. It takes talent to move people through different moods without loosing the original mood; a skill you seem to have mastered quite well. Well done friend! Derek

I dunno, Calvin... Four, five, sometimes even SEVEN words in a line? :o What has happened to Sir Calvin of the Few Words? Of course, I jest, this is awesome. The Angel Without Wings is such a lovely image, and at the same time, it seems so obvious; is it possible it hasn't been used before? But either way, leave it to you to make this song work. You grab us right from the get-go....take us up in the air with him -- then pull the rug out from under us! I do like Stan's interpretation of giving us a tease for "hope" with that last chorus.... Finally, I'm also impressed by how genuine the tone is. Given the virtually-universal theme, it would have been very easy to slip into corniness and platitudes. So keep at it, Mr. Non-Cookie-Cutter Song-Writer!! Beth

Hi Calvin,
I haven't been around much lately, but for good reasons. Son is doing well, and I've just been busy with other things and work.
This is a great hook and lyric as always. The only thing that stuck out for me is that the first verse didn't really lead well into the chorus. What makes her an angel? I wonder if you started the first verse with:
"It's like heaven in my mind" and kept the rest of it. Then to me, the "angel" part would work better. It does flow so nicely and even though I can't write a note of music, I can almost "hear" it!!!
Nice to see you again.
Diane

Hi Beth, Thank you for taking a moment from your action packed day to visit this tune. I do appreciate that & I appreciate the fresh humor you deliver to the board. You're quite the character, & I mean that in a good way. Yes I assume the title has been done, I also seen that a group is called that ! Didn't know either till after writing this one. Now look how you got me rambling with all these words, just like so many on em' in this song. "it would have been very easy to slip into horniness" ........I'm certainly not above that oh !, you said corniness, well....that too. Either way thanks for your kind words and the chuckles you have given us all with your posts. Have a cool day. Calvin http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewart

Aw shucks, Calvin.
Thanks for being so sweet. But at the same time, be careful: should this brazen praise continue, my head will swell further, my equilibrium will be thrown off, and I'm likely to fall down and hurt myself again. And how am I expected to walk all the fashion runways with crutches? (note one of my original ensembles to the left, from my "Casually Hiding From the Authorities" line. VERY easy to wear...)
Cheers! Beth

Hi Beth, Well I certainly wouldn't want to see you hurt yourself...maybe I could just turn my head...just kidding ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calvin http://www.soundclick.com/bands/0/calvinstewartAs I walked down the fashion runways with crutches I didn't exactly impress all the judges My ensemble was very far from revealing My bones were in the process of healing (note one of my original ensembles to the left, from my "Casually Hiding From the Authorities" line. VERY easy to wear...)

Yes, Calvin, you are a hoot.
As I said, I appreciate you taking not only the time to doctor up this little verse, but also to be true to my verbose style.
What will I possibly write/talk about when I get healthy????
I can't WAIT to find out!! (though not holding my breath any time soon).
Thanks again, Beth
P.S. Listening to Lucinda right now...she really is way cool! Appreciate the introduction!
