I recently got permission to submit material to them, and they responded positively and sent me a contract. Has anyone had any dealings with either company? According to their website, and according to the contract I got, they seem legit. They are not asking me for any money...and yes, I have contacted an attorney but haven't heard back yet. Can you give the link to their Web Site if they have one. I am assuming you received a publishing contract? If so you will want to check if they have included a Reversion Clause of 1 to 3 years in case they can't get the song recorded.

Do you belong to a PRO? ASCAP, BMI, or SECAC. They collect Pro Royalities and have recipricial agreements with foreign countrys. It is a bit complex when dealing with a foreign publisher. I looked at your other post about Foreign Publishers. If they are affliated with the U.S. publishers you listed links to then it would be best if you signed with one of them and let them deal with the UK publisher. They should be able to handle that for you. I would ask and see if you can do that. Be sure to read any Publishing contracts carefully you receive as there is no such thing as a standard Publishing Contract. Good luck!

I contacted the office in England. Country music. I am now under the impression (hasn't been confirmed) that I can sign with one of their American affiliates. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Donna, great news, I hope they can get you recorded. I never heard of this publisher before, I hope it works out for you, keep us posted. There are a lot of publishers out there but few that accept material from unknown writers.
