All, I just sent out an email, but thought I'd post it here as well...Tom's wife, Cheryl, asked me to send out a messege to all of his musical friends to advise you that Tom is currently in Brandon Hospital with a heart ailment. He's doing pretty well, though will likely get an angioplasty early next week. Feel free to give him a holler. He's being moved soon, so I don't have his room number, but you can call the hospital and ask for "George" Stephens room and they'll put you through. I talked to Tom and he said that the angioplasty is going to be done tomorrow.
He will let us know how it went in the next day or two.

Hey All....I'm back!!  Well, I made through a pretty tough week in the Hospital. Nice place to visit but I sure didn't want to stay there. Great to be back in my own bed and to see my animals. Everything went good. I am the proud owner of a brand new cardio stent...the mesh type. Pretty fancy.. I want to thank you all for the phone calls, the prayers and of course, the crossed digits. You folks are the best!! I started working on tunes again this morning. Back to band practice on Sunday for our show with Jack Williams on the 27th at Leu Gardens in Orlando. I'll be back in the swing of things in no time. Oh BTW, I have quit smoking and so has Cheryl (my wife). Just gotta do it Again...Thanks, you folks ROCK!!

When I had my attack man, oh man did I ever take stock. I haven't smoked in 4 months. And to tell you the truth I still kind of want one! My prayers are with you Tom!

Hey Tom, glad you're back pickin', grinnin' and ....non-smokin'!! It won't be easy, but it is a good choice. Probably good for a couple of songs though!

Hi Tom, Glad everything went well with your ordeal. It's amazing what they can do for us as I can personally attest to. Becky and I both quit smoking early June also and it's really easier doing it together. Best of luck with everything and stay away from those deep fried foods. Al

It's weird, but about the only people I know who still smoke these days are musicians.
