Leprechauns are shoemakers, cobblers by trade
no taller than a boy in the 5th grade
green as grass, with mischievous round eyes
as ugly as they are agile and spry

loners, they avoid contact with all mortals and fairies
who don't mind at all, as Leprechauns are very scary
they guard the fairy queens gold 24 hours a day
al least that's what the leprechauns say

but when no one is looking and no one ever is
they transform themselves into Cluricauns
a Cluricaun is a leprechaun with a pink nose
when Leprechauns drink beer a Cluricauns is born

traveling amongst mortals
they are the slickest of thieves
whether you are short or tall
they'll lead you to believe
all of your treasure is theirs
all this time it's been on loan
with interest times ten squared
they'll soon have all that you own

in the morning it gets poured into a pot of gold
but no one knows how these riches came into the fold
for in the morning sun a Cluricaun is a Leprechaun again
the wealthiest of fairies, without any friends

one works hard while the other plays games

traveling amongst mortals
