Blind Buddy Moody is looking for pickers to join him the first Thursday of every month for Blind Buddy Moody's Country Western and Blues Review. This open mic night at Dave's Aqua Lounge in St. Petersburg, FL is hosted by Buddy and is run in the tradition of the Grand Ole Opry meaning that all styles of pickers are welcome and comedians too. The next open mic is: Thursday October 2, 2008 Dave's Aqua Lounge 10820 Gandy Blvd. St. Petersburg, FL 727-576-1091 Showtime: 9:30 PM About Blind Buddy Moody Blind Buddy Moody has had quite a year! After being discovered playing for tips at a local flea market by the Mojo Gurus singer Kevin Steele Buddy signed a management contract with Steele Management. He promptly released a live CD entitled See No Evil that Tampa Bay, Florida’s Creative Loafing magazine gave a four-star review and dubbed Moody “the finest roots performer to emerge on the local scene this year.” The magazine also dubbed him “Best New Discovery” in their Best of The Bay year-end issue. Television and radio appearances quickly followed as well as a series of concert dates opening for the Mojo Gurus, Dex Romweber Duo, Joe Buck and David Allan Coe as well as headlining on his own. TBT magazine recently named Buddy one of the top ten acts in Tampa Bay. Cool story Jerry. Thanks for sharing. Hope they get a great crowd.
By the way, thanks for sending those folks over to the Lock & Key in Englewood a week or 2 ago. I forgot to mention it to you. They showed up, stayed and had a great time. Thanks again.
