I think "are" is correct. It is like saying the police are here or the army are going into battle. They are a group of people therefore collectively are classed as plural.

Nobody loves Zeppelin like I do! That band influenced me more than any band in music. When I was 7, I heard my first Zep tune and decided right then that I wanted to be a female version of Robert Plant (even though he's a female version of himself! LOL) To this day, covering Zep tunes is one of my favorite things to do, and they're still my favorite band of all time.

So who's opening for them...Alison Krauss? :-D BTW, she and Plant sound amazing together on their CD.

I hope Robert warms up those pipes {they came down a key on many of the songs in their London show} I also hope Jimmy stays off the vitamin H,and Jason stays off the hooch. {John Paul is money in the bank!} Regardless, If they come near Cincy, I'm there!

I hope it is. However it is not the most reliable of sources as there are lies damn lies and The Sun newspaper. LOL
It has a reputation for printing "inaccuracies" allegedly as many people who have filed liable suits against them will testify. I would wait for a more reliable source before I get my hopes up. But if it is true and they appear near me I will be there. It HAS been a long time since they rock n rolled.

Jim, I'm not familiar with that paper, but what you say makes sense.
I thought it was understood all along that they would tour eventually, but Plant was commited to the Allison Krauss tour first. The thought of them touring without Plant seems ludicrous.

LOL...Zep and Ludachris!

Hey Bob...iffin you need someone to go with to the concert...I'll go with ya. Tickets will prolly be a gazillion dollars though. And you'll have to drive (I'm still under double secret probation).

Yeah, they can't tour without Plant. What would be the point? That would be like showing up at a gun rally with a pocket knife!

I saw the Plant/Page tour a few years back and loved it. They had a full arabic orchestra, and did a 15 minute version of Kashmir that was awesome ! ! I'd love to see that again...

Personally the Plant/Krauss CD does nothing for me...a bunch of montonous droning...not one song jumped at me ...

Big Jim was right: never trust The Sun:

http://www.mtv.co.uk/channel/mtvuk/news/449033-robert-plant-denies-led-zeppelin-reunion

On the other hand, they do intend to tour without Plant, but with another prominent US singer.

If I had to bet, I'd say Steven Tyler.

Yep, it just did not sound right. Same thing happened with The Police last year.

BJ speaks the truth.

Maybe Leona Lewis will get the gig wink I thought she was excellent at the Olympics closing ceremony.

I saw them for 15 minutes in 77(?) at Tampa Stadium before a thunderstorm hit. The show was shut down and a riot started. I think they opened with "Dancing Days" and were into "Cashmere" before the storm hit. I got Laryngitis from getting wet. Went to Disneyworld the next day.

Forget all this - I don't wanna see Leona Lewis ever, may as well be Jerry Lewis, and forget Steven Tyler or anybody else. I wouldn't even go if it was Plant. smile

I'm a Zeppelin FREAK!!!! and Jimmy Page is my favorite musician/producer ever.
The band died with Bonham, they knew that and that's why they never went on with it in any serious matter. Good for them!

The Page/Plant No Quarter Shows were FABULOUS Page played brilliantly because he was not up there trying to play the 4th harmony on a 9 guitar tracks song.
Having the orchestra was perfect for Page & Plants song. Besides did you see how awesome he performed The Rain Song just sitting in that chair.

Also see how they didn't use John Paul Jones (AWESOME musician by the way) Once they used him it was like calling it a Zeppelin show. Smart move.
I would rather have Jones & Jason join that Page & Plant big show and tour that.

These guys were my hero's when I was a 7 year old kid and I love them till this day.
I don't wanna see & hear these guys sounding & looking old & finished trying to emulate the 4 piece live Zeppelin show. They had a hard enough time doing it consistently great when they were young men. Zeppelin always could be pretty bad live on one night and then BRILLIANT just the best on another. They were not consistent like The Who was.

Leona Lewis with Led Zeppelin lol smile that's a joke. If your that desperate lend it some credibility and get Ann Wilson from Heart. She knows Zep! & Rock!

I'm now going to listen to my 1982 Death Wish 2 Soundtrack The last awesome original music that Page composed.

Thanks!
Peace Mike

I'd go to that one, and I swore off the "big name" concerts several years ago.

As a side note, I saw Heart back in... it must have been around 1982 in Indianapolis. The opener was some local up-and-comer named John "Cougar" Mellencamp. It seemed like half the audience left after the opening set. Too bad for them because Ann and Nancy kicked a**!

i was very lucky to get backstage passes to the AMD stage this weekend at the Austin City Limits. Headliners on Saturday were Robert Plant and Allison Kraus. everyone expected them to do a bunch of tunes from the Raising Sand album - a great album BTW.

turns out they did several Zeppelin tunes - Black Dog, Battle Of Evermore. fantastic! first time i ever saw Robert Plant live, he can still belt it out.

Okay now I'm jealous!!!

They smoked that show BIG TIME. "In My Time Of Dying" was ferocious.
they played and sounded like they were recording it at that show...
