The next JPF showcase will be Sunday November 9th @ the whistle stop grill in Safety Harbor @ 1pm. I purchased a boom mic stand and a direct box which will make things better for all of us.

I don't see any reason why I can't go this time as I now have Sunday's off. I hope all JPFers can make it as well. I'm inviting some local musician friends and hopefully they will become members too. This should be another great time. See ya there!

Jerry,
I'll be there Sunday with my keyboard. If anyone else wants to do some piano songs they are more than welcome to use it.

I am hoping to see you all Sunday "God willin' and the creek don't rise". I may even try out a new tune that I have recently finished. Jules

Thanks to the following player's for a fun showcase! Jeff Blake-Thanks for the engineer's hat. Steve Dockendorf Dave Star Blue Island Beer Club Q Jules Scotty Lee Shelley Eckert whom must be music fan of the year as she attends every music event possible. George Lampman and his wife who also attended. While the attendance was a little short the amount of talent was not. Thanks guys! As a side note,Scotty Lee runs the Wednesday night open mic at Jolli Mons up in Dunedin. Excellent host and NO TV'S to compete with. You can sign up on line at Jolli Mons myspace site or bring your instrument of choice and hope there is an open time slot. http://www.myspace.com/jollimonsThe food and service is also excellent!

Thanks,Collin! The legendary BIBC is worth seeing if any of you folks are out and about. Jeff Blake gave me an engineers hat yesterday so now I suppose I will have to go out and buy a train. Choo,Choo!

Jerry,
The hat is recognition for two things that we all appreciate you doing; Keeping our JPF train on track & the fine sound engineering you do under not always ideal conditions.
Thanks and see you next month,
Jeff

Thanks to Jerry and all who came out for the November Showcase. The food was good, the weather was perfect, and the sound system was awesome. Even though we had to leave a little early and I didn't get a chance to tell everyone goodbye, it was a great opportunity to try out a new tune. Next time I'll have the words memorized hopefully and won't need a music stand. Here's the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM7Po17N4LA with clinking dishes in the background and all LOL. Please rate it good or bad and leave some comments if you wish. Also if someone could bring a tamborine or bongos that would be great or maybe this is a good opportunity for me to get some. If anyone wants their performance taped next time, just let me know:

Great job with the video. The sound and video were very accurate. I would love to have my performance video taped/recorded. What kind of camera are you using? I am just curious as the video came out so well. Thanks!

Jerry Glad you liked it I will be happy to tape you and anyone else next time. I also want to blog and photograph in still picture the whole day in detail so that members who can't attend have a complete review of the event. I'm using a JVC Everio HDD 35x optical zoom camcorder. YouTube doesn't really do the picture and audio justice though, it's much better on DVD. I'm also available to tape, photograph, and document non JPF events. Cheers!
