I'll tell ya, Calvin. It's hard to find a nit (surely there must be some) when a song is just so dang much fun! Some great lines are scattered throughout this, and even a double entendre or two, hmmmm? I submit:

All you left was mustard baby
In the bottom of my sack

A warped mind like mine can read all sorts of innuendo in that couplet.

Hi Calvin,

You manage to write a lyric with "trailer trash" in the hook that is somehow still perty damn cute, and very funny. I can hear this done in an alt. country or folk format; Lyle Lovette was never as inspired or outright laugh outloud funny and sweet at the same time as you manage to be, right here.

I must say food was never a favorite subject in lyrics for me, and the images you provide in this is not excactly pastel coloured either.

But I also think that's what's making this real in terms of capturing the subject at hand, so when dealing with the idea of 'trailer trash' you absolutely does not romantizise it in anyway. No escapism here, so I absolutely think you're cutting it to the bone.

You seem to have a whole concept about 'trailer trash' and 'white trash' in the US. I remember Dixie Chick's "White trash wedding" as playing on that concept in a lot more escapist way (adapted for commercial music).

I guess your lyric speaks loud and clear, but can you tell me a little about those "white trash", "trailer trash" images - whats it about?
