Lyrics: She Didn't Stop
(c) 2009 Geneva Keith
Verse 1 She liked to have a drink, After work she deserved (it), Then another to calm her nerves..
She drank at family picnics, Found every excuse, She couldn't stop at one or two..
Chorus One drink she was fine, Two a little talksy, Three a little friendly, Four a little tipsy.
But she didn't stop! Give her five or more.... Hell broke loose and flooded.. Everything she loved..
Verse 2 She liked to have a party, Cut loose and unwind, Have a few too many, Too many times..
She had no special way, Of drinking unprediction, At anytime she might get, The drinking notion..
Chorus One drink she was fine, Two a little talksy, Three a little friendly, Four a little tipsy.
But she didn't stop! Give her five or more.... Hell broke loose and flooded.. Everything she loved..
When she didn't stop!...
Bridge The dam broke! The flood started, She'd slam you if you're in her path.. She'd knock you out, you would drown (in), Her raging drunkin' wrath....
Chorus One drink she was fine, Two a little talksy, Three a little friendly, Four a little tipsy.
But she didn't stop! Give her five or more.... Hell broke loose and flooded.. Everything she loved..

Geneva:
Perfect song describing the down as well as up sides of drinking. Songs that glorify drinking as the utmost pleasure went out of fashion following Keith Whitley's untimely death from alcohol poisoning twenty years ago.
This one, however, tells both sides of the story. Another reason I think there are far fewer drinking songs today is because of the awareness of pathologies such as DUI crashes and the tragic results.

Yes Geneva, Very good story once again. I like the emphasis in some of your lines, "hell"really drives the consequences home. Patti

Thanks Brian,
I watch people and write about them sometimes. It's what I see in a lot of drinkers, but not all.

You do a very good job telling a story here. That chorus really nails it.
