That's what my wife calls it. It's supposed to be a project studio. A place to play, practice, and record music. It might even work for writing a song now and then. I posted the start of this project a while back. I thought you might like to see the progress. I still have a little way to go. I picked up curtains for the windows today. I still have some equipment to set up. I'll post the final pictures in a few days. Remember folks, this is only 25 minutes from downtown Nashville. Drywall is taped and ready for paint ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03710.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03711.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03712.jpg) Paint is done ready for trim ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03824.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03825.jpg) Installing the new flooring ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03830.jpg) Floor and trim done. the small couch ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03831.jpg) Oak bench seat, acoustic panel and a bunch of cables ![[Linked Image]](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t7/BillRobinsonMusic/Project%20Studio/DSC03837.jpg) Control area, Computer, DAW, Mixer. You're doin' good Bill. Congratulations!! If you want something done right, do it yourself I swear, the work ethic seems like it's been in steady decline for a a lotta years now. My boys both work in construction, as I did, and they just shake their heads at some of the sloppy work they see (And have to do over sometimes) No wonder they're both still working in the middle of the winter in a field that been hard hit for jobs. (Scuse me for digressing <G>) Keep us posted Wy

I agree with Wy, good job Bill. I know it's mean't to be a play room, but brush up on production skills and maybe you can make a few bucks from producing.

Wy I couldn't agree more on the work ethic issue. As a carpenter and remodeling contractor I ran into it all the time. What I found over the years was a lot of folks pass themselves off as professionals who are not. Most are amateurs at best. Those folks can get work when things are good but they are usually the first ones out of work when things get tough. One thing that always pissed me off more than anything was when someone told me they knew how to do something and they didn't.
Unfortunately I have realized that some of my skills have deteriorated over the last few years. Some of my tape joints didn't turn out so well. But it'll pass.
Ben I hope to record some local folks but I'll leave the producing to guys like Mike Dunbar. He's better than I'll ever be.
I'll update.

I oughta get moving on my own. Looking real good Bill. Something to be proud of. Don't you love the feeling of accomplishment when you do something constructive.

Thanks for the updates. I have a literal "cellar" that I would like to transform someday. The inspiration is appreciated.

This was the time for me. I moved my Mother-in-Law into my house so I gave up one third of my house. The place where I had our family room and all my music equipment set up. It all went to storage. I had this unfinished space available at the back of the Garage. It was the right place and time

Calvin I expect it will serve more than one purpose but I am looking forward to making some music in there. I have already moved my Wife's Treadmill and Exercycle into the "drum room". There is still enough room for the drums, LOL

So when's the "cave warming" party? Polly Hopefully it will be at the next Pineyfest event. But anyone coming to Nashville at any time is welcome if they have the time. But most folks already have a full agenda when they get here.

Bill, wow, the Cave is coming along nicely. I'll have to get over and see it again!
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

Bill, wow, the Cave is coming along nicely. I'll have to get over and see it again! Mike I took your advice and set the Control area up in the space we talked about. The Middle room is the drum room. I used the same kind of door, with the window, Rick has at his place. I think this will work out just fine. I still have to do something about all the reverb. It is really "LIVE". Hopefully curtains, couch, books, etc will soak up some of it. But it is really only an issue if you are NOT recording direct in. Vocals could be a problem. I really don't want to build a vocal booth although the one at Rick's is great. We'll have to see.

Hugs, Bobbie Bobbie It is good to hear from you. I talked to my Brother yesterday and he was getting ready to go out and shovel snow. OFF HIS ROOF. HA! Oh how I remember those days. I don't miss it. I did miss Deer hunting this year but I will figure out something for next year.
