Hey guys, Gonna post this, a bit nervous cause I know there are some amazing songwriters on here but here goes nothing. Please don't hold back if you love it awesome but if it sucks give me the honest truth. http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_5488850These days It's killing me just rolling out of bed the bills are stacking higher. there no way to get ahead Just hangin by a thread and I think it's breaking These days I wonder if my car will even run My son needs braces, daughter wants a dress for the prom I just can't let on That it's not happening These days I wish my life was big enough my dreams could occupy it And happiness was cheap enough that even I could buy i But this big ole dizzy world keeps spinnin I'm still losin it's still winnin getting by keeps getting in the way I've had enough of these days These days I've been told I live the life I choose Those Talking heads on TV oh they haven't got a clue Try walkin my shoes You'll go crazy These days, One step forward leads to two steps back If I don't learn to laugh I'll have a heart attack Just trying to stay on track and getting nowhere These Days I wish my life was big enough my dreams could occupy it And happiness was cheap enough that even I could buy i But this big ole dizzy world keeps spinnin I'm still losin it's still winnin getting by keeps getting in the way I've had enough of these days These Days Every night I fall down on my knees I still thank the lord for my wife and family I'm alive and I’m free, I guess that's something These days

Welcome, Mike! Mighty fine song here...an anthem for our times that has a glimmer of hope at the end. At least we're free (for the time being anyway : ). Fine lyric, nice clean arrangement, and great voice. No need for nerves...great job.
Cheers, Scott

Really "REALLY" nice song. Love the lyrics. Melody wise, I found everytime the third line came I expected a minor chord. Nice vocals too.

Guyss thank you so much, I sang this one myself first and foremost singing is what I love. Hoping the songwriting will pay for the chance to sing, Singing songs and touching people's hearts is the main goal. This song was so interesting to write, it went from a song about a horrible week I was having to, as Scott said, somewhat of an anthem for our times. Thanks again for your time

Starts off with a real good "Zac Brown" feel, but goes its own way nicely. Singing is pretty dang good, probably need some guidance on where to do those voice "breaky" things and maybe some phrasing -- but it all sounds good to me.
I know you are going for that "ring", so I feel the lyrics seem a little "unfocused" or maybe repetitious. I think you need to decide where you want to take this story. It is basically "happy" song about how the world is beating you down into a total pulp. Nothing is going right, you are complaining and you never give yourself any way out. You've had "enough of these days", but then at the end you are happy with what you have. There is a real conflict of messages in here.
By the way, singing is a pretty hot commodity -- you probably will be able to find collaborators here, if you so wish.
Just a couple of thoughts.
Kevin

Mike,
Everything came together very nicely, the lyric, the music and especially your voice. Great job!

Tammy Tammy thank you so much. I've thought bout trying to make a living as a session vocalist but haven't the slightest idea as to how to even begin to do that. I'll sing anything you send my way just let me know.

Kevin, what I was going for with the lyric is just to tap in to that helplessness I think many of of our feeling and have been feeling for a long time, but the last verse is just a reminder of what is important. The lyric say "I guess that's something" but in truth that is MORE than something it is EVERYthing. I don't have kids yet, but I have lots of friends that do have kids and no matter how bad it gets as long as the love is there that is what gets them through. Thanks for your thoughts
Rod, thank you for the compliment, I've been blessed with a voice that people can hear as their own, an instrument that can convey the emotions they feel. I am hoping it will take me where I want to go. You guys have been so encouraging to me God bless each and every one of you. If I can ever help in anyway please let me know M

Very nice song! Your voice is amazing and fits this song to a T.
Like Kevin suggested you may want to really study and tweak the lyrics a bit... I enjoyed listening, thanks

Really nice song! Thanks for sharing it. I was expecting the turn that Duncan was talking about on the third line. I really did enjoy this!

Hi Mike, I was moved. I can relate to your song. Really like the wordplay in your chorus. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.jpfolks.com/forum/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

I have read it, and read all the comments...I'm having to download it b/c for some reason, no matter what I click on, it won't play. grrr (my pc, not your player)
OOOh, there it is.
Yes, great voice, right out of the gate.
I agree, Zac Brown feel, but a good bit different too. I really like the melody, it all works, imho. Not sure what you were nervous about. I post mine and I sound like a run over kitty trying to grasp for the last bit of asphalt before the tire comes back around. LOL!
I enjoyed it, I think I may enjoy it a few more times.
