hey Stan,
how are you doing? As a Frenchman I couldn't miss that one. I agree, some things (and truths) had better stay unrevealed. But lots of people are ready to pay a fortune just to take a look inside Pandora's box (even if the view is often very disappointing)!
Gotta go now, got an 'end of the world' to take care of (looking for my Saturday best)! Hope you have a great rapture!

Th(is) WAY of Re-(DING) Lyics IS diffiCULT.
But...it is very difficult to post lyrics in a way that gives the reader the best idea of how the song is to be made from them. While avoiding the "it doesn't scan well", or "I can't find a melody" critiques, it also presents a post that isn't easy to read or stay connected to.
It's a choice tho'. I haven't figured out a balance. It really is impossible to tie the lyric to a melody without hearing the melody, scansion is basic, you can read for that, but melody and music just can't be written into a lyric. So, in trying to present those aspects, the lyricist compromises the readers ability to follow the lyric.
So, without all the quotations and notations, the reader doesn't know where the song goes, but with them, the written lyric is hard to follow. However, a lyric that scans in meter, reads just fine all on it's own, regardless of melody or music.
Not so much a critique of your lyric Stan, more of the style in which it is presented, which is a matter of choice really. I mean, what can you do aside from presenting it with the sung melody in a MP3 to emphasize the changes?
A songwriter who presents a lyric has the ability to present it with the song and the reader can listen as well as read along. A lyrics only contributor has but the written format to present his idea. It's been a challenge to find a way to do this so my comments here are more a going over of what I notice works and why.
Go Lightning!

Bonjours Mon Ami!
C'est Mon Avis que les Jeune Filles Francaise port les Plus Jolie Derrieres dans la Monde Entier---c'est un des raisons j'ai un Femme Francais..heh!
Anne's on-record..hosting the Oscars, I think it was, that her nudity in her Latest Movie didn't result in Good Box Office.
I confess to not seeing that movie, either. But..the scenes are all available on the net, bad lighting & all...(free).
NONE of Anne's visible in Her Latest..she's the voice of "Jewel", the Gal Parrot heartthrob to Main Bird-Character "Blue"...in Rio. (A very enjoyable Feature Length Cartoon.)
She got kinda savaged for her role in this one, as-well (Tho I'd blame the writers for her kinda Bland Delivery here.)
I remain a Big Fan of hers....the lady can act/& other'n a suitor of hers headin' off to jail, her career's very "Incident Free"...kind of a rarity these days.
Happy "Rapture Day" Amigo....Great Excuse to guzzle some Good French Wine, eh? (I'm nibblin' on some Roquefort my doc says'll kill me..)
Merci for your Gentil Visite, Amigo! Best Wishes & a Big French Guy-Hug, Stan

HiYa Brother Tommy!
Yeah, I've taken a few hits on The Way I Pen Words...heh-heh!
&..I've had co-writers who DO re-pen 'em the way Normal People are used to reading. Doesn't bother me a bit.
I'm a former Cartoonist...& the Caps are a bit of a carry-over from years of inking-in Words..inside thought balloons.
Bill here once revealed to me HOW to get the computer to indicate Italics...but..with my Pathetic Oldster's Memory, that evaporated after a day or two. & I reverted Back To My Old Tricks..heh!
Yeah, hopefully the Stanley Cup'll soon be returning to Tampa Bay! (St. Pete Times had an article about "This Year's Tooth-Count"...down this year, it turns out!)
Thanks for Your Kind Visit & Discussion, Amigo. It's Appreciated! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Bonjours Brother Michael!
Yeah, this'n's sort of a Grandpa Version of the J Geils' Number...heh! & Annie'll just carry on...& get another Endorsement Deal or two...& do exactly What She Wants.
But..I at least keep my String of the Unusual Hooks intact..once-again!
Thanks for your Kind Visit & Words, Amigo...I gotta scoot off to the Day Job, wifey's goin' ballistic on me--
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

HiDee BurleyBuddy!
Yeah, sings-along Real Smoothly..in my head..heh!
I'll give her props for Gutsy-ness..& "Expanding Her Career Parameters"... Does have one of the Most Beautiful Faces (& Picture-Perfect Hooters) in Da Biz..& an A-1 Personality.
Sharon Stone still sets the bar for "Kansas-es"...I guess.
Think "Best Butt" Honors go to Tom Cruise's Ex-, whose Name I've momentarily-forgotten/now-married to Keith Urban...I think.
As for Hockey, I don't follow it too-closely either...BUT..think maybe the Bolts are gonna Pull It Off..again..This Year...
We'll..heh-heh..soon-enough SEE...(Tee Hee!)
Thanks for Your Kind Visite, NorthernAmigo!

Hahahahahah...Good'n' NearNeighborGuy!!!
Google "Anne Hathaway Nude" & Thar She Be. It's not a Disappointment...but it's also Not The Best Move she's ever made, Career-Wise. JMO. HOPE she lands a Good Flick that's worthy of her ACTING ability..soon!
Meanwhile, I get to have some relatively Harmless Fun..& crazy songs like this'n' sure break up The Monotony.
Penned 2 "More Commercial Ones" last 2 days..."RECONSIDER" and "It's Either SEX OR DRUGS"...I'll be posting soon...
Right now, tho, gotta take La Femme out to Our Traditional Saturday Night Dinner-at-the-Chinoise..or she'll be kickin' MY worn out Behind--been a pretty long week of Clocks & Fan Fixings!
Thanks for the Insight, Kind Amigo.."Happy Weekend" backatcha! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

My favorite song title in quite a while. Thanks. I'm headed too to Google to see what all fuss is about.
I Always LIKED Your TYPOGRAPHICAL Panache. (sP?)
My friend Sherry Jones has a very good "Rapture" short story on Kindle. (ShameLESS PRomo.)

Good Evenin' Bro Dave!
I'm always trying to come up with Something-Memorable..even Nudity is Fair Game. Hollywood ALWAYS is....
I like Anne Hathaway...tho I dunno if I'll get any Phonecalls-Returned after this baby might ever get out there.
But (no pun intended) it was great Fun to pen this'n'...& as any Star'll tellya, there's prettymuch No Such Thing as "Bad Publicity".
Thanks for Your Kind Visit & Words, Amigo...& I'll keep workin' on that "Greatness" thing..it's pretty elusive stuff!
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

HiDee Kind Amigo! Enjoy The View!
"Typographical Panache?" WOW..I am Diggin' that Compliment (Since I take Regular Pounding for it from "The Pros"..heh-heh!)...
BUT...Regular Penning of Songs..& Other Stuff...is basically on the BORING Side for Yers-Truly, and 20 years of Cartooning got me Inspired to Maybe Change Things for The Better..Understanding-Wise.
I always give Credit Where-Due...I got introduced to This Way of Typing Things by a local guy, Claude Reynolds (Who thought he might've been a Love-Child of Burt's)..who'd pen these scathing letters to Local & State Politicos...with LOTS of BIG CAPITAL LETTERS when he was Making His Positions KNOWN. (He also ended up in a Mental Institution..just when we were becoming pretty good friends./Haven't seen or heard of him since...)
He was a Wonderfully Sarcastic Guy, & the Planet needs LOTS more of 'em to help us ALL keep our sanity. JMO.
I confess to not having a Kindle...bought a KOBY MP3/Vid gadget 2 weeks back, new at the Flea Mkt..$20..haven't yet had time to read the Manual & figure it out. "It'll hold 2000 Songs"..but I've yet to get the First One so-far.
SO...Amigo...I wish Sherry..& Yourself, All The Best..& Big Hugs too.. (I'll feel a Rapture of-sorts when I figure out SOME of the Bargain Technology I HAVE here already..like a Digital Cam..& a TEAC Flash-Memory Recording Board..(That's sat 7 months a-waitin' my spendin' $50 to get the Video telling me HOW to use the Critter.)
I'm an Analogue Dude in a Digital World. (But Thank God & Claude for the CAPS..eh?) ;-)>
More Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan
