The 2nd harp has an "accordion" feel to it in the beginning. Cool idea for a tune -- it reminds me of dueling tubas (only different). Sounds like you had you fun, and I did, too.
Super! That's some fine harmonica playing. Are there three harmonics in there, and if there are, is that trueling?

Not sure that I know anyone who wouldn't enjoy this. Excellent.
I think that second harp may be a tremelo harmonica, which is what's giving it a 'celtic' feel.

Kevin Thanks Kevin! The second harp is a Hohner Echo Harp. Has a second set of reeds to add vibrato. I decided to use it so that the two harps sounded distinct from one another. There are multiple harmonica tracks but that was done mostly for convenience - I could apply the panning I wanted to the different tracks easier that way. At any instant of time, I think there are only two harps playing - except maybe at transitions where there might be a little overlap. Fundamentally though, this could be played as is by just two people - though if one of them was me it would require a bit of practice first. I added a third harp at one spot but it didn't sound good so I took it out - sonically there was no room for it.... LOL - I actually looked up "trueling" in the dictionary (it wasn't there) before I got the joke Scott

Thanks Nelson I've played the song (badly) on guitar but never on harp. Had no plan but decided to do it about 10 am and wrapped it up about 5:30. Most fun I've had in awhile Scott

Wow, some Fabulous Harpwork, Bro Scott!
I found myself TRYING to remember all the nuances of "Dueling Banjos" so I could properly crit this piece...& couldn't! It felt a little slow at the startup (Or should I say "long?"..) & then when it Perked-Considerably...& ended...I found I wanted to hear More...(I could've listened to LOTS more...LOVE good harmonica playing!)
Very Enjoyable & Totally Creative..Congrats on Doing the Nearly-Impossible, Amigo! Good Luck with it!

Stan Glad you enjoyed, Stan. I didn't listen to Dueling Banjos before recording this. I went ahead and did so out of curiosity this morning. I was surprised to find that, after the slow intro, I used an essentially identical structure. As for the slow intro, I was even more surprised to find that mine is shorter. They include both of the main musical riffs in their intro and I only used one of them. So "Dueling Banjos" is 3:15 and it's not until 1:57 that it starts to move. Mine is 2:58 and starts moving at 1:18. That said, I wonder also if my intro is too long Thanks for listening Stan - and motivating me to compare the two. Scott

Never heard anything like this before on JPF or anywhere. Fun listen. I'm guessing your lungs are in good shape (maybe from all that hiking and climbing you do). I got the accordion feel as well early on then I got pictures of large women playing accordion's and then it evolved into kazoos from there.
I also got this vision of you lying on the floor completely spent trying to catch your breath with two harmonicas hanging out your mouth.
It could be just me though...lol.
