Hello to all my JPF friends. I'm writing to all of you today in extreme need of some assistance. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this on the forums or if you are even supposed to post a this kind of post at all and if you are not than I sincerely apologize. However, it is at upmost importance. My family faces a major mountain ahead of us. To make a long story short I have a disabled (diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy) little sister that if we can't get a house handicapped house built for her soon we will have to send her off away from the house and her family to accommodate her needs. This will not only kill her spirits and the progress she has made but as well devastate her family. She is bound to a wheelchair for movement but for years we have lived in a trailor and my mother has been forced to carry her through the house and the sibling I speak of is now 18 years old with limited movement abilities so you can imagine her weight. On top of that my mother has now been diagnosed with MS which is taking over her body quickly. She can not do what she has been doing much longer. I have created a facebook page hoping it will help spread the word world wide and bring not only some attention to the situation but also some possible donations. Hailey and the family are only asking a single $1 from every and anyone. The donations I speak of can be sent to a P.O Box Hailey House P.O Box 721 Booneville, MS 38829 To read more about Hailey and the situation or to check out the facebook page here is the url http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002947942488Reason I have went this route is that we don't make enough income for the high monthly mortgages for the charities out there that come in and build you a home like Home Make Over and Habitat for Humanity. The family and I only have a P.O Box because in the state of Mississippi you have to be on a waiting list for around two years to become a non profit charity. I hoped that with the power of social media and the amount of people that could be reached and a small asking of a single dollar that we would get somewhere however to date we only have had $21 come through and that's from two individuals. I'm asking for the help from my JPF friends and fellow musicians not only in the form of a dollar donation but also if you don't have it or don't feel comfortable sending even a dollar to a stranger then by simply telling another about this will be an angelic act. we will gladly accept marketing ideas and strategies as to how get this thing rolling better. Also please all of you that have facebook go and friend her to help bring the attention to the effort. Just simply search Hailey's House . Thanks to you all and God Bless. Again if this is not the place for it I am sincerely sorry.

That's a very difficult situation. I'm sorry to hear of it.
Perhaps it would be useful to set up a PayPal account?

Brandon, I dont think asking for a kindness is begging at all.
Set up a paypal and I will add my $1 for sure and $1 from Helen.
God Bless Roy and Helen

very sorry about this tragic situation Brandon
I used to work with kids who had Cerebral Palsy...Their needs are quite challenging under the best of situations.....regarding fundraising-marketing ideas-I would suggest you contact the local tv/radio stations and the local newspaper.....their reporters are in my experience quite good at publicizing these cases and can advertise bank accounts to have money sent to.......in addition the local station might get this story picked up by the national station-NBC or whoever.....I would also suggest getting in touch with the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation........No offense to you but it might in fact be the best thing for her to go to a residential treatment home or facility...this condition is as you know extremely challenging and can often defeat all the best efforts of non professionals who try to deal with it....expense wise you are talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars in the long run....I think at a minimum she would qualify for home care nursing services right now.....maybe I am wrong about that.....I do agree that she has to get out of that trailer as soon as possible in any case....I spent two years on a volunteer rescue squad and God forbid there would be a fire cause those things collapse inward and even able bodied people are trapped and usually die......hate to discuss that scenario but I have seen it myself.....she would have no chance at all-nor would those trying to help her get out......well anyway I suggest you try the local media outlets.....perhaps she could go to a residential care facility until the house is built....its a matter of doing what has to be done for her health and safety and the best of intentions sometimes have to yield to some harsh realities sometimes.....
Best of luck
Tom

Thank you so very much Roy God Bless to you and Helen.
Tom I understand and agree with where you're coming from. We've done a heck of a job providing for her needs thus far and feel we could continue to do so once a house is built. However to properly do so she does that type of house you are correct. You are right she does need to get out of the trailer. Your scenario has made me want that even more so than before. May have to take what you mentioned into great consideration. However will still work on getting the pay pal, contacting radio stations and tv stations and every other means to get to where she can stay with the family that loves and adores her dearly and deeply.
