Messing around a bit with this old traditional song. Haven't picked up my guitar in a while. It has some warts that I need to fix. I got a new PC and I am still trying to adjust the recording so if you have any suggestion please help Love you all Dan http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10276473

Wow Dano,
It's great to hear you back on JPF. I've missed you as I'm sure others have as well. I really like your rendition of a pretty song. Keep coming back, OK?

Dan,
Very nice rendition of this one. I like how you finger-picked it. Almost seemed like you did this in a different time signature? Isn't this a 3/4 song? It gave it a unique feel. It was nice to hear you again.

Hi Dan, Well I for one envy your picking! I'm just learning to finger pick and what I noticed right aways was once I started it that was all I wanted to do. Now I'm trying to give strumming, and learning different ways of stumming that I like equal time. I love traditional songs so I like this. You're recording sounds very clear to me and I don't hear your warts. Oh Welcome back! Dottie

I don't think I've heard a nicer rendition of this than yours, Dan. You have a terrific sound with just your guitar and vocal - man, you can see and feel the whole thing just by listening. Is a gift to be able to pull that off.
Great to see you back with one!
Scott

Great news it sounds like with your wife!
Unfortunately I have to admit I didn't know this tune -- went to wikipedia and found out it might be the most famous cowboy ballad ever!
You do a mighty fine job here and the finger picking is as clean as ever. Great rendition of a classic (even though it is new to me!).
Welcome back!
