Well, since Paul met John while John was in the Quarrymen, then Paul brought in George, to add to that band with Colin the drummer, and one other I can recall the name of right now, I don't recall that just John and Paul were a duo for any gigs.
Even Johnny and The Moondogs and the other bands Lennon formed and named, I think the least amount of players Lennon was a part of was three, when he, George and Paul played without a drummer, until they got "tried" a drummer not Colin, then got Pete best, for his mother had a practice basement and he had a full set of drums. (rare for kids in that area to have a full set, with a nice mother making sandwiches every day for them.
So, I say, there was no duo of John and Paul after that meeting of them at that fairground event at the Wooten Village school. (I hope that's the school's name!). Didn't remember that name until I got to it in typing! Lennon either went to that school, and or that is where Paul came to hear Lennon's band.

When I was at Dovedale, I knew George Harrison but only by sight, because of our age differnce of nearly three years. A big gap when you're as young as we were. Later George went on to Liverpool Institute and I went to Quarry Bank. It was several years later that we got really keen on music, and Paul and I started teaching ourselves the guitar. After school each night, we'd rush through our tea and then meet, and practice our act. When we felt we were good enough, we went for an audition, calling ouselves The Nurk Twins.
"Very good," the agent said after our performance. "I'll book you for a show in Reading." "Great," we yelled, going potty with joy. We sang several songs in that show and a small proportion of the population of Reading went mad on us.
It was then we started dreaming of a future in show business. Before that, we hadn't dared to think about one. Unfortunately, though, the Nurk Twins didn't altogether catch on, and we felt we'd do much better in a larger group rather than as a duo. So we started and finished several groups until we got one together that had the beginnings of a new sound.

Correct, you get the points  also correct but Greg beat you on the buzzer  Here it is in John's own words from 1963.... Here's one. John, Paul, and George recorded a live (live meaning that there were no effects or overdubs or second takes) guitar solo concurrently in the studio. They each traded licks.
What album does this hot guitar solo appear on, and what song does it appear? Abbey Road...The End That is correct. I wasn't sure if it was Carry that weight or The End, but it's after the drum solo. A little slice of the old rock and roll Beatles on their way out.

Nigel, It wasn't on any of their official albums. It was on the first Anthology CD release. I had never heard of it before then and was actually excited when I saw it. Oh, and it wasn't a particularly great song. But then, it didn't have to be, Greg

Stevie Probably a ghost writer who gave wrong info, for Paul came well after John's real first band, "The Black Jacks", and after one of the first of three Nerk twins duo acts I just found out about. The practicing of guitars for John and Paul of course came after the Schoolyard meeting in 1957 where The Guarrymen were playing, which was after John's first band, "The Black Jacks", and after the first of The Nerk Twins duo acts of Lennon and Pete Shooten, This was before The Quarrymen even! Later, John and Paul, and also Paul and his brother, Mike, (using the Nurk Twins spelling) would perform as duos. John and Paul did that twice in late April, of course "after" the meeting of the two, and after Lennon's other Nerk Twins performances with Pete Shooten. Lennon's first band? "The Black Jacks" His first duo? With Pete Shooten, as The Nerk Twins. Lennon's Second duo act? With Paul as The Nerk or Nurk Twins. Paul's other duo? With his brother, Mike, as The Nurk Twins.

Greg Thanks, I just dug my copy and had a listen according to the sleeve notes it was their first recording session. They made the record and it didn't even have their names on it. It cost 17s 6d (UK old money) which equates to about $1.42 in today's US money Cheers Nige

The McCartney-Harrison song has been running through my head all weekend.  "In Spite of All the Danger". Most of us first heard it when the Anthology 1 album came out...it's the first song on the album, a track they recorded in a little booth that would cut a record of whatever you played...sort of like a photo-booth, only for musicians. It's really a cool song, very catchy and melodic, and a good taste of the songwriting talent that was yet to come. Ringo is left handed. He said on the Letterman show once that since he was left handed he basically did everything backwards which gave him his unique sound on his fills. Than he did a demonstration. It was pretty cool.

Related question. According to Eric Clapton in his autobiography "Clapton", ".. a great opportunity was lost for The Beatles to reform for one last performance". He was referring to a private event that occurred on May 19th 1979. George, Paul, and Ringo performed together. John later said that he would have been there too, but didn't know about it.
What was the event?

Maybe George's marriage to Olivia Arias? I know that at George's wedding (or maybe it was Ringo's), Paul, George and Ringo were in attendance. Not sure if they performed though.

Clapton was married to Patty Boyd in March of that year. The event was the marriage party which took place in May. Clapton said that he wasn't in charge of invitations, and doesn't know why John didn't receive one.

Yes, excellent I've met Neil a couple of times, he's a really nice guy. He has loads of great stories about the Bonzos and The Beatles. I got him to sign his set list for me last time I saw him. Also, last year I met some other Bonzos i.e. Roger Ruskin-Spear, Rodney Slater and Sam Spoons, they had signed a certificate for me.

Here's an easy one. George brought in an instrument that was previously used to make Sci-Fi soundtracks called the Moog Synthesizer. He used it on one of his biggest Beatles hits.
Name the song, and of course the album that the Moog was a part of.

I had to listen to all of George's Beatles songs, at least the last few to even guess at this one. It sounds like a synthesizer on the end of the intro to Here Comes the Sun. It sounds like when you turn the pitch bend wheel down, kind of a downward sweeping sound. You have to listen to hear it that way. I may be totally off bass though. The only other that I thought it might be on was Something and it isn't there. Most of his songs immediately up to that era he had Sitar on. It would have been on Abbey Road. Because either has a synth on it or a harpsichord at the beginning and definitely a synth later on.
Am I even close?

When John Lennon told the story of how the Beatles got their name he said that a man appeared to them on something. What was it? Hint: Paul McCartney released an album/CD years later and the title is the answer. Should be a fairly simple one. I bet Kaufman and Johnny D. will get it immediately.

I was in middle school, 7th grade. Mr. Moog came to our school and demonstrated the instrument to an assembly. I remember laughing at it, (I was into Grand Funk). This was well after The Beatles were already using it.

George Harrison was cremated, his ashes were scattered in The Ganges River in India.
Who was the other notable famous late rock star who's remains (at least half)were scattered in the Ganges.
Clue: The other half were scattered under The Golden Gate Bridge.
