A little racy, up tempo diddy.
I posted this a year or so ago but revised it a bit.
Unsure of the genre....prob outlaw country/southern rock.
Thank you for the look.

Apples and Oranges
copyright 2008 OpenMikeMusic
You're painted glass and I'm color by the numbers.
You were pickin' flowers as I gathered up the blunders
like a black hole in the universe, you're my light brigade,
‘cause I’m a good, hard liquor, baby, you’re pink lemonade.
We couldn’t be more different
if we lived in different worlds.
Apples and Oranges, baby,
sweet and sour mash.
You’re so cold and bitter,
I'm much better from a glass
of smooth Kentucky bourbon,
you go down nice fo’ shore,
'cause you’re so sweet and sticky
and I’m just rotten to the core.
I was up past midnight; you were dead asleep by 9.
You're a missionary, I like it from behind
your deadly wall of silence, inside my house of pain,
your acid left me bitter, my seed left you insane.
we couldn’t be more different
if we lived in different worlds
Apples and Oranges, baby,
sweet and sour mash.
You’re so cold and bitter,
I'm much better in a glass
of smooth Kentucky bourbon,
you go down nice fo’ shore,
‘cause you’re so sweet and sticky
and I’m just rotten to the core.
(solo/musical interlude)
On Sunday you're in church an’ I’m calling God in bed.
You’re kneeling at the alter, I’m retching at the head
of this ridiculous communion, your wafer on my tongue,
keeps me in the grove and my orchids in the sun.
Apples and Oranges, baby,
sweet and sour mash.
You’re so cold and bitter,
I'm much better in a glass
of smooth Kentucky bourbon,
you go down nice fo’ shore,
'cause you’re so sweet and sticky
and I’m just rotten to the core.

Good one, Mike. Lovely flow to it, and good, strong imagery. With music, this is going to be smokin'! Donna

Donna,
So nice receiving "atta boys" from top writers/composers such as yourself. Thank you so much for your time and kind words. I'm all over the music! Michael

V1: "You're STAINED glass..." "I'M a black hole in the Universe WHILE you'RE my light brigade" "I'M a SHOT of hard liquor, Baby, you're pink lemonade"
CH: "LEMON's cold-&-bitter/ GOES so much better in a glass"
V2: "I'm up WAY-PAST midnight; you're asleep by 9" "& YOU'RE ALL-Missionary WHILE I like it from-behind" "You BUILT a wall of silence inside my house of pain"
V3: "On Sunday you're in church, while I CALL FOR GOD in bed" "We have SEPARATE CommunionS, Your wafer'S on my tongue/ THORNY CROWNS UPON EACH HEAD, & GROWIN' Orchids in the Sun"
(KOS) one & or All, Amigo! Sure can Identify with lots that's bein' said here! Good Luck with a Good'n', Amigo!

Thank you Stan, I grabbed a few of the obvious grammer changes that you suggested and stole your "God." lol. A few others were good suggs but changed the meter too much.
Thank you Brutha

Cool Susan..thanks. Glad to see people of the opposite persuasion appreciate the (at times) vulgar innuendo. Thank you, ma'am. bluesriff.
