Here's an up-tempo country one for your consideration. I'm looking for both music and crits, as usual...thanks, Jan
HAD IT UP TO HERE (C) 2008 Janice Hopkins
Got an e-mail newsletter About a new group that's been formed Said we'd meet at Sheila's house Share some heartbreak and well-earned scorn There's quite a few of us Who've been loved and then got tossed So bring your excess baggage Leave it here so it won't get lost
At the....monthly
Had it up to here club Bring it all in and leave it Know you never walk alone Remember life is how you see it Open up to what you've never known If you wanna move on; leave your comfort zone Bring the stories; bring the beer Cause ladies, we've all had it up to here
All your dreams that went astray Trade them in for new found goals For it is in the telling That you heal a broken soul All our hearts understand Cause we've walked those same roads too So have no fear; we'll all be here With just a few steps and no rules
At the....monthly
Had it up to here club Bring it all in and leave it Know you never walk alone Remember life is how you see it Open up to what you've never known If you wanna move on; leave your comfort zone Bring the stories; bring the beer Cause ladies, we've all had it up to here
Repeat chorus:
Bring the stories....bring the beer Leave your bitterness and tears Cause ladies, we've all had it up to here....(spoken loudly)

Hi Bree,
Thanks for the good suggs. I may use some of them. It sang alright to the head melody I had, but we'll explore that meter problem further. I surely appreciate your help on this one.
Think I'll form one of these clubs....don't think I'd have much trouble getting gals to come join in....maybe guys too.
Thanks, Bree
Jan

This is going to be a good one, Janice. Love the hook and SO many women could relate. Love the attitude about it.
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Hi Tricia,
Thanks for once again, checking my work out. I had alot of fun writing this one. The female attitude lyrics are fun. I'll tweak it some, then hopefully one of my demo singers could do it up in a sassy fashion. Think I know just which one to go with. Glad you like this one.
Have a great day, Tricia.....Jan

Hi darlin'....This one has a lot of attitude, which is so cool to see comin' from you. Your pieces about love are sweet, but this one is a diversion, and well done at that.

This is sort of like the lyrics/songs I write. I think this is a good one, wish I had written it. No one seems to be asking for these type songs but they do play out there in the real world. Good song.

Ray,
Thanks for giving this a read. I'm glad you liked it. I'm thinking JoDee Messina or A Gretchen Wilson type....someone with some sassy attitude (alot like the lyricist...ha)
I appreciate your comments...if you're ever lookin' to co-write one of these...let me know.....Jan
