Aw Gee,
Having listened to Country Music and other kinds since about 1950 there have been few ladies in country or perhaps other genres as well. However over the last 20 years or so it is the ladies that have made the best music, in my opinion!
Check out Connie Francis and Gogi Grant. Also Peggy Lee.
