Well Lisa
Medical Bills are the leading cause of Personal Bankruptcy in America......Look that up if you dont believe me...Yes I do think National Health Care would be a major improvement over our current system...
Republican President George W. Bush declared bankruptcy when the oil business he was in went under..Even his business partner in it said they 'RAN A DRY HOLE COMPANY'..Seems they couldnt find oil in Jiffy Lube...
So-good Republican that he is-he dumped the debts he owed-walked away from them...Screw em
But he got a $500,000 loan from a uncle-cause everybodys uncle can and will give em a $500,000 loan right? Even when they have declared bankruptcy already....
He took that money and bought an interest in the Texas Rangers-a team that hugged the absolute bottom of the rankings-longer than the NY Mets I believe.....
Then he and his fellow investors in the team got state taxpayers in Texas to finance a brand new baseball stadium for his team....Course they had to use Imminent Domain to bulldoze things like an upper middle class subdivision that was in the way of the newly expanded stadium.....But hey-no problem cause Curtis Mathes obviously didnt have the political clout of the Bush Family even though he used to own a company that you know-made tv sets.....His house got bulldozed along with the rest....
Lo and behold-wrapping a brand new publicly financed stadium around his cellar dwelling baseball team dramatically increased its value(Shock and Surprise).....
So Boy George was able to pay back the loan from his uncle and then proceeded to buy that ranch in Crawford,Texas that he has now.....It was a real working ranch at the time-you know-horses and cattle and all that crazy stuff people kinda associate with the word RANCH in Texas..Well he then got rid of all the horses and cattle-which had alot of people in Texas calling it a 1,500 acre ESTATE -NOT A REAL RANCH...But W. wore a cowboy hat and called it a ranch...So he paid maybe $5 million for that and still had maybe $8 million dollars left....Voila! Self-Made Man-Rugged Individualist and all that other BS he sold to the voters so easily......
So how do you like the idea of Socialized Baseball Lisa? It worked for George W.Bush-worked mighty fine indeed....
Tom

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
