Tony, From where I sit , I can't really tell you why you can't get a desired result out of band in the Box or why you never seem to have a clean pair of underwear at any given time. I'm not there so I can't know.
I think that I bought the second tier version of band in a box so your version maybe too light on functionality. I like the way band in the Box rolls out the tracks, but there are a lot of controls in my version. As far as getting their tracks to sit in the mix, I have EQ, compression, multi-band compression, Reverb and delay. Somewhere in that I can make myself happy most of the time.
Another possibility is that you need to put in more time in to learn the program.
If you don't like it, don't use it. But do other people a favor and don't sour them on it, based on your inability to get a good result.
Possibly leaving the bong alone for a couple of weeks would help this. :-) :-)

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
