There are people here who politics in almost every song. No, that's your little drum to beat. Everyone here seems to agree that the song is not categorically political. Personally, I see it more as a "can't we all just get along" song. That is what I spoke to in my comment. However, I think that it is disingenuous to say that anyone can write a song about returning to better times without getting snagged in the political net at all. America is not a person. America is person(s). Persons are political, even at Bible class sometimes.
