Thanks for the feedback...I think what I'll do is have it critiqued by a service (who is also a publisher) and get his feedback on the legal question also...I guess if there's a chance of this aspect being a problem that publisher's are gonna be wary of it from the outset...that is, I wouldn't think someone would publish it without without having thought this thru beforehand. (as long as it's a top shelf publisher and not someone who has just set himself up legally to publish, and doesn't know much else besides...the guy I have in mind definately would fall into the first category mentioned)

If necessary, I might even be able to contact the company which has the rights to the film, and see where they're coming from regarding this...I would think that if the song got cut it would only HELP sales of the particular film on video, as the film itself is 50 years old. (of course I'm being optimistic about the song's chances to begin with)

In any case, when I find out the bottom line on this, I'll post the answer in case anyone in the future has a similar question.
