Hey Jody - I think all the bluesy stuff from Crossroads (that wasn't Steve Vai playing) was Ry Cooder. I think Ry even trained Ralph Macchio so he would "look like" he was really playing.
Not sure if this is accurate or not, but I think it's a cool pairing of Steve Via and Ry cooder. Actually parts of Ralph's stuff was Ry Cooder, some of it was Steve Vai. The bluesy stuff was Ry, the classical stuff and the major showdown at the end with the Paganini caprice piece was all Steve, both parts. Damn, how could I have forgotten to list A Mighty Wind?!?
