Linda, since you've seen "101 Dalmatians," you know Roger was successful with his song about Cruella deVil. In "O Brother, Where Art Thou," the Soggy Bottom Boys get a hit, too, but it is a traditional song--not one that one of 'em wrote. (The black kid sold his soul to the devil to learn how to play guitar, and everybody's pretty much agreed it was a good deal.) In both "Josie and the Pussycats" and "That Thing You Do!" it's not so much that the band writes good songs, but that they're manipulated into success by the respective Big Cheeses.
