Hey Eric, Here's a fine example of a verse not full of a bunch of extra syllables (I throw myself at the mercy of the court!), but loaded with a good story and some great imagery. I particularly liked the second half of your first verse: open up a bottle pour me a drink mix it with moonlight shinin in on me.... My only little nit is the "Everybody's got to cry sometime" line, which is a bit reminiscent of REM's line "Everybody cries/ And everybody hurts sometimes." Certainly, the context is a different, but since you use it twice, it really caught my eye. Would offer you a replacement line if I could think of one, and certainly, it's your song, so KOS.
