Aren't Cliches Cliche?
What's a synonym for "synonym"?
Isn't explaining the meaning of the word "redundant", redundant?
Language is fun to play with and I wouldn't get too worked up about
the structure of a song to the point where it supercedes the result.
Cliches by definition breed familiarity, and familiarity is comfortable.
Comfort is good for commercial purposes.
