Using cliche's in small measures to reinforce a point can help.
What I don't like mostly are lyrics to where I am singing about myself.
They often start out that way, but I have to reflect them back on something other then me.
Sometimes a cliche comes in handy for that.
Otherwise it may be babblespeak.
