There is no doubt that the country music on the radio today is played and produced perfectly. The musicianship is terrific. The singers also sound very good (on the recordings at least). The songs and lyrics are a matter of taste I suppose. I have read that the marketers are aiming at the women who listen to the radio on the way to work. Our local country stations seem to have about four songs in their rotation - any time I switch them on I hear the same songs ad nauseum.
