Rand, I don't know about "Wind Beneath My Wings", but Nanci Griffith definitely cut "From a Distance" by Julie Gold a few years before The Divine One had a hit with it...Ms. Gold was able to quit her temp job & go full time performing on the strength of it.

One of the things I love about Ms. Griffith is her willingness to record & help other writers.
