Colin: Sometimes playing small ball leads to the home run. Take "Wind Beneath My Wings" for instance. That song had been cut a dozen times by indie artists before I think Nancy Griffith cut it and then Bette Midler for the copyright making recording. Rand Bishop songwriter/producer/author Makin' Stuff Up (secrets of song-craft and survival in the music-biz) www.makinstuffup.net Rand, I don't know about "Wind Beneath My Wings", but Nanci Griffith definitely cut "From a Distance" by Julie Gold a few years before The Divine One had a hit with it...Ms. Gold was able to quit her temp job & go full time performing on the strength of it. One of the things I love about Ms. Griffith is her willingness to record & help other writers. Midnite

"We are all millionaires, billionaires even, because right now we have today. And today is worth more than all the wealth we can imagine. So spend today wisely. Spend tomorrow wisely. Enjoy the wealth of today, and realize it is worth far more than all the money and possessions of tomorrow and beyond." -Brian Austin Whitney
