LOL - I can relate.

A friend and I were in a movie theater waiting for a movie to start. We got on the subject of books and how he was thinking of writing one. He asked me if I ever had the urge to and I told him that, as a matter of fact, I had an idea for a novel. Actually, I had it plotted out pretty well in my mind. I was just about to tell him the plot when the trailers started.

The first trailer was for a movie that was EXACTLY my idea. Talk about timing!

I wish I had told him the plot - then he would have thought that I was playing a joke on him but he wouldn't be able to figure out how I did it. grin

Another time I had an idea for some learning software that I thought would fill a nice niche. Even a cool name came to me. Then I googled it and found that there was not only software of the same name, it did the same thing.

Six billion people on the planet - it's hard to have an original idea. Doesn't mean that you can't have an original take on an old idea though. smile
