When I registered "Goin' Back To New Orleans" with the Library of Congress (LOC) I got my registration form back, and wanted to see if it came up in a search of the LOC website. About five of them came up.
I don't worry about that. Can anyone reading this sing any of those other songs by that title?
Odds are, unless the title you're 'recycling' is truly unique (Wildwood Flower, Ring of Fire, Like A Virgin, Eleanor Rigby), and fairly recent, and yours is delivered in a similar lyrical and/or melodic treatment, few people would take issue with it, especially if yours is good.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
