below is a link to a story in The American Indian News Service which discusses Native American influences on the blues........other than the mention of Indian Pow Wow Drums-which were played 4 beats to the measure-what I really found interesting was that Indians were enslved as well as blacks and that the co-mingling of blacks and Indians in many cases makes a strong case not that either one invented the blues so much as the blues was hybrid of both.......this article says even white Europeans-including the Irish settlers-were subject to enslavement......thats really news to me as before I only thought blacks were enslaved......interesting article........
