I am getting a buzz,static or some such sound when I am recording. A sound like a mic turned up too high.It happened all of a sudden.I recorded four songs no problem but the next song I got this noise.Can anyone help me?

Hard to say, but i would reboot the computer and restart Audacity.

I've done that and it is still the same.I am loading it into my computer from a cassette player using a patch cord.I wonder if the cord is the problem?

My bet is that your right and it is the cord. Last month I was DI'ing a guitar part using the same cord I've used for years when I picked up a hiss. I was checking everything but the cord (I've been using it for years)...It was the cord.

Thanks Sue.I'm going to get a new cord and hope that takes care of the problem.If it doesn't I have no idea what else to try.

I have noticed myself with the music software that the sound retards after awhile.
Sometimes it has helped re-installing the software.
