Grace And Mercy
(c)2014 All Rights Reserved
words and music by doug healey

I found His grace and mercy
looking down upon my bed
I found His grace and mercy
through the blood that He had shed

He'll never leave me or forsake me
He'll never give me up for dead

I found His grace and mercy
looking down upon my bed

And I have found His grace and mercy-
again
And I have found His grace and mercy-
again

He'll never leave me or forsake me
He'll never give me up for dead

I found His grace and mercy
looking down upon my bed
I found His grace and mercy
through the blood that He had shed

He'll never leave me or forsake me
He'll never give me up for dead

Break

And I have found His grace and mercy-
again

He'll never leave me or forsake me
He'll never give me up for dead

I found His grace and mercy
looking down upon my bed
I found His grace and mercy
through the blood that He had shed

He'll never leave me or forsake me
He'll never give me up for dead

Hi Doug

Man I really like a good Christian tune, and this sure fits that description.

I never notice before how much your vocal is similar to Gordon Lightfoot

Cheers
Paul

Ahhh! A good example of the simple ones are the best.

I thought that, production wise, there should be a pause here and there otherwise it just plods along.
Good song and vocal though.

Doug,

I have yet to hear a song from you I havn't liked. Christian music is not music I generally listen to, but this is just sensational. It just flows along so effortlessly and your vocal, for me, has never sounded better. It was right in your wheelhouse. It didn't sound like you struggled to hit a single note. The more songs I hear from you, I hear one of my favorite artists, musically speaking. Do you listen to Marc Cohn? Musically, I see a real similarity.

I almost never have a nit with your tunes, though I have one on this one. I wasn't crazy about the acoustic guitar solo playing the melody line. I am not sure what it was, but the tone sounded a touch off to me. I hear more of an acoustic piano melody line played there with a mixture of single notes and chords. Just an idea.

All in all, I thought this was fabulous.

Thanks Paul, appreciate that. Gordon is cool.

Thank you for the comments Vic, the simpler the better...that's very true.

What level is that Eddie? Pray tell... Thanks a bunch for the listen and the comment.

Hey Dave, it's funny, as you were listening I was redoing the guitar part. It helps when the guitar is in tune while recording. I decided to use a nylon string for that part. It sounds much better. By the way I love Marc Cohn. Walking In Memphis is an all time favorite of mine. Thanks

Thanks y'all

hey Doug,

I like the simplicity and reference to a hymn structure, but am not too sure about the vocal phrasing especially with the word "mercy'.

I can't really offer any suggestions, other than to play around with the vocal tones, and make it sit better.

It certainly is new, and still references the old, and would work really well with a choir vocal arrangement, either classical or gospel.

cheers, niteshift

Doug,

You seem to never "miss". This is no exception.

Very well done. Good production, good vocal, good write.

Thanks Dave.

Thank you Michael.

Thanks Night, I'll consider your suggestions.

Hey there Floyd, I'll start posting all my "misses" now.

Thanks y'all.
