This time I decided to post the lyrics first. Link to MP3 below that. WALKING ON A TIGHTROPE I’m not trying to frighten you away But there are some things I feel That I just have to say There are times when you seem not to care And I wonder if you are Covering up your own doubts and fears You always seemed like A confident person But somehow you’re keeping me At a distance And I’m wondering what’s going on Is there enough diversity These days to keep you interested Are you wanting someone new instead All I’m asking is you take the time To figure out just what is real And evaluate just how you feel You have raised my expectation Now how do I keep your attention Have you really changed your mind Keep an open mind Sometimes I feel as if I’m Walking on a tightrope Will you still be in my life Am I headed for a fill Heaven know I’m thinking of you Do you know how much I love you I guess you can’t have it all I know you have other options now Guess I must go with the flow Although I don’t want to go Maybe I’ll start working overtime Just to get you off my mind Until a new love I may find It could prove worthwhile in the long run But I doubt I could find someone Who could take the place of you Sometimes I feel as if I’m Walling on a tightrope Will you still be in my life Am I headed for a fall Heaven knows I’m thinking of you Do you know how much I love you I guess you can’t have it all I guess you can’t have it all http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=13067649&q=hi&newref=1

Love the vocal and great lyric. I felt like the verse melody may be a bit too close to "Hey There Delilah," though the rest of the tune isn't anything like it. In the very beginning of the tune though I found myself singing the lyrics to Hey There Delilah. May want to change it up just a bit to differentiate more. Otherwise, a fine write.
Nice job.
Dave

The melody was written by the company that made the demo for me. I am not familiar with the song you had mentioned, but do recall a Tom Jones song called "Delilah". But I fear that now that there are so many lawsuits brewing, soon people might be afraid to create anything. I just heard of another potential one on the radio just yesterday. It seems that in recent years there has been a dramatic increase in suits related to copyrights and trademarks though.

I here you Beechnut ... Here is a live version of Hey Delilah ... The melody is at the start is what I think is very similar to what your demo co. did. Otherwise, quite different tunes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGWify5P_fM

It's probably at least different enough to avoid a lawsuit. At least I hope so. I know a singer in my local area who says that nothing is absolutely 100 percent original.

I thought the chord progressions were different enough to eliminate the possibility of trouble... but you never can tell in today's ambulance chasing society. Very nice lyric and melody and I wish you well with this song.
Regards,
Dave

I am curious as to what you meant by ambulance chasing.

Really nice song, has a little bit of a country sound, which I think is what you were going for, but I also think this has potential for a crossover into the pop genre as well. I also heard a little bit of Hey There Delilah when I listened to it. I'm also going to agree with Mike in that a little break would have been nice in a couple of places.
Overall, nice song, great work!
