Kickin' It In The Sticks Copyright 2016 by Wes Tibbets
Verse One
Tan lines, straight pipes They come out on Friday night And don't stop until the rooster crows Long legs, pony kegs Hangin' out with rednecks Spinnin' dust up on a country road
Chorus
We hoot and holler, spend every dollar On beer, trucks and pretty chicks It ain't ever stoppin', the party's always hoppin' Kickin' it in the sticks
Verse Two
Parking lots on map dots Pullin' out all the stops On your mark, get set, and let's go If beers keep flowing A party's always going It's the only kind of life we know
Chorus
We hoot and holler, spend every dollar On beer, trucks and pretty chicks It ain't ever stoppin', the party's always hoppin' Kickin' it in the sticks
Bridge
Yeah, we're feeling good, feeling right We can do it all night
Chorus
We hoot and holler, spend every dollar On beer, trucks and pretty chicks It ain't ever stoppin', the party's always hoppin' Kickin' it in the sticks
Tag
Nah, it ain't ever stoppin', the party's always hoppin' Kickin' it in the sticks

Hey Wes,
Looks like a fun one!
I didn't know what "straight pipes" were -- I was thinking of vocal chords, and pot pipes, but then I googled and found it might have something to do with car exhaust?

Good country lyrics, Wesley. But "Tan lines" at the top will make us think of Luke Bryan.
Don't feel bad. Luke is influencing me, too.

Hi Jim,
I'm influenced by every thing I hear in one way or the other. I was actually just having a chat with MAB along those lines regarding this very song. Man, that fella has forgotten more than I'll ever know about the music business. I sure appreciate the kind words and all of the encouragement you've given me Jim. It means a lot and I thank you for that. Best wishes!

Thanks Mike!
Where I grew up, every party was a sausage fest. I guess I come by that bro country kind of natural like. I appreciate the kind words. Best wishes!

Me too. I grew up in the country and came of age in the 80's. Senior parties, bonfires and often just several pickups parked in a field or at a set of oil batteries. I had a lot of great times doing that. To me it was no big deal but later on when friends or family would come visit from the city, I'd catch them just staring at the stars. They never seemed to last long at those parties. Seems like I was always carrying them in the house or dropping them on a doorstep before I rang the bell and ran.
